Highly recommended by a "foodie" friend. Nice atmosphere but tables are way too close together and it was rather warm in the restaurant. Also, it doesn't plainly state that they take "cash only". We found this out as we were paying our bill. Our sandwiches were good...one was brie and herbs, and the other was cheese and mushrooms. The servings... more

Something foreign to cheesecake was in our cheesecake at Cafe Lalo. When we brought it to the attention of the manager we received a shrug. Never again. more

This weekend I went to Cafe Lalo for the first time with 4 friends. It's a really cute little place on the Upper West Side. The decorations are cool, sort of European. 3 of us ordered the "Parisian Breakfast"--a very large croissant with butter and your choice of fruit preserve (many options) and a large cup of cafe au lait... more
