We booked for three on the strength of reputation and I was disappointed. We got lots of attitude from the head waiter who was impatient with us while being obsequious with his regulars. The staff struggled to pronounce the names of the food and cheeses. My saffron rice was served implausibly fast and sure enough the grains were frankly crunchy,... more

We live in Philly and enjoy the wonderful dining scene here. We decided to try Le Bec Fin for our 22nd wedding anniversary with mixed results. We made reservations on open table and we had what my husband called the "internet tables" in the anteroom of the restaurant, since other diners around us had also reserved on open table. These... more

Le Bec Fin is a landmark in Philadelphia. It is one of those unique dining experiences and certainly not your average dinner out (Dinner for two can easily run over $450). While I cannot fault service or the quality of food, it is a bit overpriced when compared to similar places in other cities. Typically, with restaurants of this caliber,... more

We just returned from a dinner here and I wanted to write a full review so that people looking for a great meal can make an informed decision. We booked a table for two on opentable.com two days before arriving. We are local and had been to le bec fin about 4 years ago but had moved away and now... more

We ate in a small room with 8 tables. The service was mixed; especially about the wine we ordered. Had some trouble understanding the waiters. The fois gras and crabmeat appetizers were excellent. The beef tenderloin was very tender but thought the sauce was a little strong. The veal chop was over-priced but good. They remembered that it was our... more

With all the reputation I was greatly disappointed with the food. The decor is horrible. It is as if a victorian house threw up all over the place. I can name 10 other restaurants with better food. more

Believe it or not, just ok. Food was tasty and the dessert cart was out of control, but then, so was the price. (Our bill came in at $463 for 2 of us.) Make sure you don't get stuck in the dining area by the door like we did. I felt like we were watching people eat in Le Bec... more

I was brought here for dinner by physicians trying to hire me. The food was very good and the ambiance was very nice. They kept saying since I was from NYC, "this is the best we got". I must say it is on par with some of the better places in NYC. more

Attended a presentation dinner for about 25 people. Food was excellent but service was unacceptably slow. Decor seemed dated and a bit stuffy. I would still like to revisit the restaurant again, but go for pleasure rather than for business. Of course, I'll have to work some overtime before I can think about going back. more
