Adelitas served my Menudo addiction for several years while I lived in Santa Fe. Their Menudo will turn skeptics into raving fanatics as happened to me. Not sure I was the Menudo "type", I tried it. The first spoonful or two did not make a believer out of me. But by the time I had finished the bowl, I was... more
We went to this place because it was across from our hotel and because of the very good reviews. Well, we got disappointed. First of all: the salsa trio. With the chips came three little bowls of salsa. Red white and green. Nice idea, but the salsas were so watered down, we couldnt scoop it with the chips. It was... more
If you think good Mexican food comes from places like Chevy's or another chain restaurant, then you might not like this place. They serve excellent, authentic Mexican dishes. I had enchiladas de camarones. I haven't had a dish like that since vacations to Mexico. The staff was very attentive and even tolerated my mediocre Spanish with a smile. Plenty of... more
I took my wife and 4 year old daughter to Adelitas based off the reviews I read. This isn't your typical Mexican resturant as it has authenic dishs with beef lips and tripe. If you are looking for mainstream Mexican, this isn't the place. more
Adelitas is really authentic Mexican food at its BEST! The outside of the place doesn't look the best, but the food is excellent. It is a great place to find out how good Mexican food can be! more
Wow! how refreshing to find Adelitas after long lines and high prices at the downtown hot spots. This place was great! Clean, bright, authentic and reasonably priced. Don't miss the drunkin shrimp starter - and the Pablano Mole was tasty and plentiful. I will definitely return when I visit - and for that matter, why not again tomorrow night! more
We went to Adelita's for a Sunday brunch/lunch. It was a lively, yet not too crowded, place for an Easter meal. We ordered a variety of menu items (from eggs. to enchiladas, to tacos). All were excellent. Service was very friendly and efficient. Their corn tortillas were some of the best this native San Antonian has had. This place is... more
On Cerrillos Road very near the Courtyard by Marriott is this Mexican gem. Most of the customers are local and the place is packed (I went a couple of times). This alone should give it high marks but add the food to it and you've really got something great. I enjoyed the chicken flautas and the enchiladas mole; wash down... more
Wedged between KFC and Mickey D's, this isn't a place where you would expect to see one of the towns many 2nd (and 3rd) home owners or the Opera crowd. On the other hand it is not a hole in the wall with a very bright festive interior. Prices are great especially considering the great taste and consistency of the... more
