I'm spending 3 nights at the falls in early Oct and have already arranged accomodation in Foz for 2 nights but would like a night on the Argentine side.

Can anyone suggest a cheap hotel/B&B in Puerto Iguazu for US$40/50 a night for a double room??

Also, are there any suggestions on what we should see and do on our 1 day each side of the Falls?

We're also having difficulty in booking a flight from Rio to Foz with Gol - for some reason the website won't accept our credit card details to complete the booking!!! Anyonelse had this problem?? Any ideas how to get around it??

Many thanks

I`ve met people who have stayed here

www.hostels.org.ar/hostel.asp?hostel_id=66

and heard great reviews about it.

Great ambience, large pool, lots of ammenities. I`ve visited Iguazu last month (3rd time there) and stayed at Hotel Cataratas, but I`d have preferred this hostel since it`s great and much more affordable.

The typical tour includes sights of the Brazilian and the Argentinian side, one each day. Depends on your pace, but you`ll probably spend 4 hours each side (not including transportation / tickets).

Hi, we stayed at a place called The Secret Gardens. Clean, friendly and cheap. Puerto Iguazu has nice places to eat and very cheap. I found The Secret Gardens on tripadviosr and emailed John and he sent someone to collect us at the airport. We flew from Rio to Puerto Iguazu direct.

We just (Feb 2008) stayed at Los Helechos in Puerto Iguazu. It is a little outside your budget (180 pesos or a little less than US $60 in high season for a double with AC). We found it to be very comfortable. The falls from the Argentina side are spectacular. You can easily walk to the edge of the Devils Throat and do the upper circuit which has amazing vistas. There is not much to do in Puerto Iguazu but visit the tourist oriented souvenir shops, eat, sleep and visit Hito Argentina, which overlooks the point where Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil meet. If you feel like splurging on a meal, try La Rueda. We had an excellent meal there.

Hello my friend,

Gol sometimes doesn't accept international Credit Cards.

You can try to call them and pay by phone or you can check at another Brazilian company, TAM.

www.tam.com.br

Foz do Iguazu (Brazilian side) has a lot of hostels, when I've been at Puerto Iguazu, I was in Grand Casino Iguazu, so I don't have much more information.

If there's anything I can help, let me know!!

Good luck,

Lara

I'm using a travel agent based in Bolivia. Maybe she can help or recommend someone.
