Can anyone recommend hotel for wedding & family holiday |
|
We are looking to get married in Antigua in May next year. Prefer an all inclusive hotel because we have children aged 9 & 5. Loved the look of Coca Bay (small scale & simple also not a massive hotel which appeals) & Galley Bay but unfortuntely any hotel I like the look off doesn't cater for children under 12. A friend's daughter got married at Blue Waters & she said the setting was incredible, and although the hotel was lovely her daughter preffered to visit them at the more laid back family orientated Halcyon Cove hotel, although she said she wouldn't recommend the Hyclon to get married at ? Can anyone recommend an all inclusive hotel with really good (picturesque) locations to get married at that's also good for children & not a sprawling hotel? Big request but any advice would be aprreciated.

I can't help you as I have not been to Antigua (yet - going @ xmas), but have you visited the wedding website called The Knot? They have a destination wedding forum and I bet if you posted your question on the DW forum - you would get lots of good ideas! Congratulations and good luck. I got married on a beautiful beach in Grenada in 2006. We had about 10 guests and had the BEST time ever! Destination weddings are the best...

Have you considered St James Club? They can organise (or you) a weddign at shirley heights which ensures great views for your wedding photos :) plus a church in liberta for your blessing/actual ceremony. Plus a reception at the hotel's a la carte restaurant. The resort is great for kids, I stayed there recently and there was a couple getting married as I described, ceremony at shirley heights (20 minute drive from the hotel) and blessing at liberta :) You picked the BEST island to get married :)

I second the recommendation for St. James's Club. We were married there in April and the resort did an amazing job. There were a good amount of kids around and plenty of activities...there's a kids club, kids pool, ping pong, great watersports, calm water for kids to easily swim/wade in, and good food selections for children. They did a great job with our wedding. We weren't offered the Shirley Heights location, but we were given the option to have the wedding wherever we wanted (most common is the at the end of the beach where it's quite, or in 1 of 2 gazebos). Our pictures were amazing - we were married at 4pm and the sun was perfect for pictures (I think the other option is 11am for the wedding). Hope this helps! Feel free to message me if you have any further questions. Stephanie

We also got married at the St. James's Club in April. We were a group of 20 people ranging in age from 21 months to 70 years young. We had the most wonderful week and a simple intimate wedding on the beach at 4pm. We had our wedding dinner at the Piccolo Mondo restaurant and it was worth the surcharge as almost all of our guests had the lobter! Tammy took care of us and she was wonderful. We brought our own photographer with us and the light was perfect for photos on the beach after the ceremony. On the Friday we donned our wedding attire again and went into St. John's to take photos and did a "trash the dress" shoot at Half Moon Bay...amazing! I woud do it all again in a heart beat, we did not have one complaint from any of our guests, many of them are saving for a return visit. The staff are amazing, we fell in love with many of them-they treat you like family. PM me if you have any questions...
