Has anyone here stayed in a 1 bedroom deluxe ocean unit at the reef? Interested in hearing your opinion. I know it's a bigger unit with a much nicer terrace and lot's more windows...believe a found a floor plan on-line...looks REALLY nice....thing is they tell me they are on both sides of the building (ocean end of course) and run from ground floor on up. I am toying with going for one but for that kind of money I would be really pissed if I ended up on the ground floor facing west (harbor).

They are really nice.I contemplated it when I bought, but they were alot more money. Not sure how they dole out what floor you get.You Really Really want to get on Ocean Resort side.

I called The Reef itself as well as reservations...the latter will change their story as many times you call and talk to different people. The Reef told me that they cannot tell you what you will get till check-in...they said that with the view wrapping around the building you will have ocean views no matter if you face east or west...I know that I would rather face east.....the killer was when asked what floor they start on, they told me they are on many floors...when pushed further they reluctantly told me it could be ground floor and up. Reservations said I could request an upper floor resort view....but you know how that goes...it's just a request not guaranty....what they added was this being a premium unit and the price being what it is they don't have many people that rent them so I should get what I ask for...that response sounded odd to me.

You will have a great Ocean Front view on either side. The Resort view will face Cove, Island view is of Harbour and Nassau.

I don't know...I really have to think about it...we are booked for 8 nights during the second most expensive time of the year....spring break...the cost difference btw the ocean 1 bed and ocean 1 bed deluxe is close to a mini vacation alone...I'll see if they throw any specials out there as time goes on....that may do the trick

We just returned today from our stay at the Reef and we stayed in a 1 bedroom deluxe ocean...we upgraded at check in and payed the extra $$$$.. we were on the 14th floor it was absolutely wonderful...in my opinion worth the extra cash...we looked forward to going back to the room everyday after a long day at the pool/beach...coffee on the terrace in the am was also wonderful!! In the master bedroom the windows are wall to wall and the bed faces the ocean so when you get up in morning all you see is the ocean...we had originally booked a 1 bedroom oceanview but our room was not ready when we arrived...I had asked the desk clerk if their were any upgrades available and she said only to a 1 bedroom deluxe would we like to see them both to make a decision...so we did...the 1 bedroom was awesome but after seeing the deluxe we decided to upgrade...we are from Tampa too...

Hey neighbor for the heads up. I figured with all that window it shows on the floorplan, it has to nice. It also looks like the balcony is huge??? Can you feel the difference in the extra Sq footage? Also what was the size of the sofabed? I can never get a straight answer if it is queen or full...Thanks

The balcony is a wraparound balcony, huge, there was a table for 4, 2 lounge chairs and a regular chair with tables for each...my husband estimated it to be around 65 or 70 sq. feet

The sofabed was a full/queen, it could sleep 2 children nicely but our kids each like there own space so they sent up a aerobed for us (no charge) finally something for nothing (not really :)

I do think that the sq footage made a difference, the master bedroom was huge and there was alot of space between the master and the living room where the kids slept...everything else seemed about the same....it was the balcony that sealed the deal for us!!
