I've heard of a few seafood restaurants in CAbo, and wondererd if anyone has any opinion on the following in terms of 'quality', 'service',' prices', freshness, and ambiance:

O Mole Mio

Benny's Lobster HOuse

La Palapa

Mariscos Mocambo

El Pescadore

ANy info would be great. I just read a thread that shrimp season starts in Sept. Does that mean I'm getting not so good shrimp from elsewhere?!!!if ordering it there?...

El Pescador, yes!! Its one of our favorite hang outs, excellent shrimp cocktails. Other fish dishes as well, its one you see lots of locals at so you know its good. Minimal ambiance tho.

La Palapa is next door to El Pescador, I only at their once and was disappointed and its higher priced. Haven't tried the others but have heard a lot of Mariscos Mocambo. You can also get good fish dinners at Solomans. The old Shrimp Factory has moved and is now called Maro's Shrimp Factory I believe. Its just a few doors up from Crazy Lobster, or across from Mama's. I don't think any of these will have "ambiance" like you'd get at La Golondorina, Puerto Viejo or Villa Serena. But quality, service and freshness are certainly all there.

Solomons

Mocombos ( the one on Vicaro St. up from Cardenas St.)

Maro's Shrimp House. (across from Mama's on Hildago St
