Just back from Nice and, whilst the town was fantastic and the people lovely, our holiday was a bit of a nightmare due to the standard of accommodation. I booked an apartment I'd seen on a recognised holiday apartment rental website and dealt directly with the apt. owner.

Described as 'luxury holiday apt' this couldn't have been further from the truth. In a run-down building, 3 flights up through a stairwell with plaster falling off the walls and electric wires hanging everywhere outside. Also described as being 0.2 km from the beach, and turned to be at least a 25 minute walk to Castel Plage or a 5-6 minute bus ride and then a walk from Massena. No satallite tv as described and only 1 fan when fans were described. I actually had to buy a fan myself to keep the children cool at night. Little storage so we lived out of our suitcases.

Bathroom and separate toilet doors didn't close properly making privacy a problem.

I certainly wouldn't describe any of the accommodation, especially the bathroom and kitchen as 'luxury'. It got to the stage where we really didn't want to return to the apt after being out for the day.
