S-Bahn trains connect Terminal 1 with the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) in 11 minutes. Single ticket is EUR 3,60. There are many hotels around the Hauptbahnhof and on a normal weekend you should be able to find good rates for a Sa/Su night (no/few business travelers).

The Sheraton is right in the airport and connects by a footbridge to T1. Look at the website www.sheraton.com as you may find it expensive.

Other "Airport" hotels all need a shuttle bus ride.

There is a mainline and subway train station attached to T1 to get into Central Frankfurt, but assuming that 11:20pm is touchdown time it can be 45 mins before you get landside.

Again assuming 11:00 am is push back time you will probably need to be at the airport between 90 mins and 2 hours before that on Sunday. Depends where you are flying to.

You will need to balance the cost of an airport hotel against the time and cost of getting into Central Frankfurt and back out on the Sunday. Using the Sheraton means you will be in your room within 20 mins of emerging from Customs and equally on the Sunday you just take a leisurely walk into T1.

Thank you. My incoming flight is an inter EU flight. So I assume I can leave the airport relatively earlier say in one hour. According to the map, the small town Kelsterbach (north) seems not far. I try looking for a hotel at this area. Does anyone has the idea about the taxi fare from airport to this area at night? I am afraid it may have an extra-charge and the whole expanse turns out to be too high... Thanks again.

i would say the taxi ride from Frankfurt airport to Kelsterbach should not exceed EURO 10,00 - otherwise the taxi driver is trying to rip you off!
