If you are in Tarragona then make for the Pizzeria Madolina - the lunch time menu del dia is tremendous and one of the best we have had in Spain.

For 10 euros each we had a fantastic three course meal with a bottle of wine. The quantity and quality of the food could not be faulted and the other people in the restaurant (who were all Spanish) were in total agreement.

It is just outside of the old city on Estanislad Figueres.

Hope you find it and enjoy it as much as we did. We have travelled in Spain for 20 years now so i think we know what we are saying.

Madolina is known locally for making giant pizzas. Get the four or six cheese (I prefer the four). They make good, fresh, tasty food. But, if you are a gourmet, if you are looking for something fancy, this isn't your place. Service can be slow, especially on Friday or Saturday in summer. There are a lot of tables and the kitchen is pretty small (but open for all to see).
