I am traveling eary September 08 with a pensioner and would be greatful if anyone could advise of the best way (and prices)to travel.(I would normally take a taxi but someone told me that they are expensive , advice please) Thanks for your help , Gary

Gary, if we knew where the San. F. campsite was maybe we could advise. Valpolicella would know.

In my experience Italian taxis are no more expensive than British ones and off the bus routes you very often have no choice. Once we get a fix on the campsite the APTV bus website may help.

Hi, I think a taxi will be your best way of getting to the campsite as Camping San Francesco is between Desenzano and Sirmione at the edge of the Sirmione peninsula. A bus is a possibility but it depends how late you will be arriving at Desenzano.
