Quay West or Meriton Pitt Street |
|
For location Merition Pitt Street wins hands down... for $189 I assume that you will be staying in a studio apartment.. for the 5 days I would pay that little bit more and get a 1 bedroom for the space... I just stayed there this week and the only negative was the 40 minute wait for the elevators courtesy of World Youth Day... it seems to be cheaper to shove 6 kids in a 2brm apt then a backpacker hostel.. the lifts do always seem a problem here so I would suggest that you never go up or down around 10am as you can wait for up to an hour.

Have stayed ay Quay West with harbour/opera house views and it is great........in my opinion better than Meriton Pitt St (could be anywhere). The Quay is in the Rocks, near tourist spots, five star hotels, ferries, rail station, bridge etc. Make sure you get a harbour view as well worth any extra cost.

For location I would be opting for Quay West Apartments they are in an excellent location close to all transports - ferries, trains, buses which are found at Circular Quay a short 5mins walk away.

Thanks for your input. It looks like 2 votes for Quay West and 1 for Meriton Pitt Street. I'm still not sure which one to choose....

Which is more important to you $$$ or view and does the 239 at Quay West give you a harbour or city view? If not a harbour view then I would serious consider saving the $$$ and go with Meriton

Well, we are definitely not going to spend $240 per night extra for a harbor room at Quay West, so we might as well save some money and stay at Meriton Pitt Stree. I have also noticed Swissotel (for about the same price as Meriton). Obviously, it's not an apartment, but should be fine for two of us and Swissotel has better reviews than Meriton. Hmmmm...
