Planning a vacation for our silver anniversary. Would like to know if anyone has stayed at the KBH the maui wing, oceanfront? Just want a laid back vacation, doens't have to be fancy but want it clean.

Hi,

e stayed at the KBH a year ago. We were in the Kauai wing and it was wonderful! Our room was lovely, we had no complaints. When I made the reservation, I did it through the hotel directly. I had read somewhere that some of the wings were renovated and some not. The lady helping me assured me that they would try to give us a renovated room.

If you are doing your reservation directly with the hotel, I would ask which wings are newly renovated. I would also stress that this is your anniversary and you want everything to be very nice. The hotel has a website....www.kbhmaui.com You can see the layout of the wings, and a breakdown of the room categories(color-coded).

I don't believe the Maui wing is ocean front. The wing faces the ocean, but sits far back on the property. You will see this on the property map. If you are on a high floor, you will see the water. Although, none of the wings are extremely tall.

I think a portion of the Kauai wing and the Molokai wing are actually Ocean Front.

We will definitely stay at the KBH again. Good luck. Please post again if you need anything else.

Happy Silver Anniversary!

MamaC,

I had to post again. I made an error when I told you we were in the Kauai wing. We were in the Lana'i wing. (My husband called this to my attention! And we think they don't pay attention!)

My husband and I stayed at the KBH for a week last month. Our room was on the 4th floor of the Maui wing and we absolutely loved it! The Maui wing is all partial ocean view even though it looks out towards the ocean, maybe because it sits back quite a distance. I suggest trying to get an upper floor, 4th, 5th or 6th, so you can see over the trees out to the water. The really nice thing also about this wing is that it connects directly to the parking garage so is the most convienient of the wings. Maui wing is one of the renovated wings and our room was very nice, nothing fancy but comfortable, clean, and roomy. The balcony looks out over the beautiful grounds and courtyard. You should take advantage of the free every evening entertainment in the courtyard - we talked to people from next door at the Sheraton who would come over to sit and relax while watching the show and having a Mai Tai! Hope this answers your question!
