Hi

Thinking of staying at Oasis Beach Hotel for part of our honeymoon. Just a little confused as to where the construction starts. Am I right to assume that the hotel is right in the middle of the construction? How far away is the hotel to other attractions/central dubai and is it expensive to get around and are taxis plentiful?

This hotel is right in the middle of it.

If it is the only sea view you will be able to afford, i suggest you MAKE SURE you book a sea view room.

I.E book directly with the hotel and get a confirmation from them saying SEA VIEW DOUBLE or whatever. Then it shouldn't bother you at all.

However, construction facing, all you will hear is banging. I mean more banging.

Wotcha Geezer! Luvvit! Seriously, do a bit of a search on here on the hotel. To repeat myself, Dubai doesn't really have a centre, but the hotel is located at the other end of town from, say, the airport. It would take you about 25 - 35 mins to get there if the traffic wasn't too bad. Taxis are more than plentiful and much cheaper than in the UK. What attractions are you interested in and we can give you some more information.

Hi

As you will be on your honeymoon it would be better to stay at a hotel that is away from the construction....( your wife wont be impressed with all those cranes!).

Take a look at the list of hotels on the left hand side and you will find loads of information on hotel locations, services etc. Taxis are cheap in Dubai so you will have no problem with getting about.

Where does the construction stop? Is it around Jumeirah Beach Hotel?

We stayed at the Oasis earlier this year, and had a fantastic break for 5 days. Yes it is right in the middle of the construction zone, but if you get a Sea-view room you are fine. The only time we had construction noise, although it goes on all night, was when we we're laying on the beach. You forget it's there after a short while. The more annoying factor was the dust haze that the building works create, reducing the views up and down the coast and partially obscuring the Burj and Jumeirah Beach Hotels in the haze. Hotel is efficient, comfortable and if you'll excuse the pun a little Oasis amongst the newly appearing high rise skyline of that area.

We recommended the place to a friend who has a particularly fussy wife and they both loved it, I would go back anytime. Need I say more.

The haze is a natural atmospheric phenomenon and nothing to do with the building work. In case you hadn't noticed, there is a lot of dust and sand kicking around in Dubai that easily gets wafted into the air - particularly when the wind is from the South.
