Unless it has changed, it is parking that is nearest to the front gate, behind the georgia cyclone (if you are familiar with the park --- if not, think entering the main gate, turning right, and the first major ride on your right is the cyclone) -- so this parking is as close to the front gate as you can get. I have used this parking when we brought our lunch in a cooler, as it was easier to access than the more distant regular parking that requires a hike, or ride on the tramcar. Seems like it was about $10.00 which was worth the price for us to be able to run to the cooler and get a drink, snack, or meal.

Premier parking puts you closer and cost $20.00. Regular parking cost $15.00 and you are picked up in the parking lot and dropped off at the main entrance.

It's probably been more than 10 years since I've been over to Six Flags. Is there still a back entrance into the park and picnic tables along the back side of the parking lot?

I can remember being able to park fairly close to the back entrance by the picnic tables. We would take a cooler with food and drinks and go out there and have lunch.

The back entrance has been closed for several years. There are still picnic tables but you'll have to go all the way around from the front gate. I suppose if you park in the lot near the front you could hop in your car and drive around to the picnic tables and then back around to the front to be picked up by the shuttles when you finished.

If you get there early, before it fills up, there is a vacant lot just before you enter Six Flags and that puts you really close to the entrance, basically just cross the street. Last year it was $10 on a weekday. It was really easy in and out.

Premier Parking is $20 Normal parking $15 but further away. Also, other parking lot just in front (I think it was $10 but it may have been $15)

If you are travelling to Atlanta think about staying at the Wingate at Six Flags - great hotel and only about a 200-300 yard walk to front gate (leave your car at the hotel) We stayed there on 1-3 July 2008 and found it great value. (Note: the rooms can be a bit noisy during the day as you can hear the rides and people screaming on them but I found that just added to my excitement) It is the closest of the hotels to Six Flags and has a pool, indoor heated whirlpool, fitness centre, and breakfast (it was very busy the days we were there). It is also only about a 20-30 minute drive to the airport depending on traffic.

Enjoy Goliath and Superman - I know I did.

check six flags website or (I think) Kroger to get admission for $29.95 (kids price) for everyone including adults. Been advertising quite a bit on TV as they seem to be getting desperate for patrons.
