Tourists Dream
Within easy walking distance of the Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House, we thanked our good fortune that we booked this hotel. Quick walk to Circular Quay for views, ferries, bus tours, restaurants & shopping. Walk to Botanical Gardens and Museum of Sydney. Saved money by booking a two-bedded room so that our 16- and 20-year-old daughters could stay with us. They also enjoyed the fantastic breakfast buffets, easy internet access, and friendliness & helpfulness of staff.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Do the Opera House tour - just show up and buy tickets. But be sure to book for the opera before you go. Do the Bridge Climb even if you dont like heights - fantastic! With your swimsuit & towel, take the Explorer bus, a hop-on-hop-off bus that gives you a great tour and allows you to swim at beautiful beaches along the way.

Ideal Location
This hotel is consistent with all the Marriotts in the US: clean, comfortable, and nicely staffed. Because we requested a roll-away bed, we were generously upgraded to a larger room with an Opera-view at no additional cost. The best thing about this hotel is its ideal location in that its close to the Rocks, Circular Quay (a main hub for all ferries, trains, and buses), and the Opera House. Food in Sydney is quite expensive, so be prepared. Your best bet is walk to the Rocks for dinner. The restaurants next to the hotel are very pricey and not too kid-friendly. I recommend Jesters (around the corner)for their delicious meat pies and Young Alfred Cafe located in the library for their gourmet pizzas.
I highly recommend the See Sydney and Beyond SmartVisit card. I ordered on-line and picked up in Sydney. Great value!
