Severely Unimpressed..

I kinda knew what to expect here, I was cool with the noise & the younger crowd. I was excited for the club & tattoo shop & amused that it had a sex shop. Yeah.. wasn’t so great. Immediately when we arrived, there was a group of girls doing drugs right outside & a guy peeing on the wall by the dumpster. The parking: awful. Theres about 10 spaces which are always full. Its an underground garage thats so cramped you have to back out to exit & hope no one is in the street. And god forbid you happen to be in the garage while the band is loading, they tried to pick a fight with us. If you cant find spots, youre told to park in the neighbors lot (also full) or on the street (creepy..) We had to park about 2 blocks away & lug our bags to the hotel. The hotel: basically a crappy motel thats been decked out.. No elevators, so we had to carry our bags up steep stairs to get to our room. The rooms okay, small, but its clean (big plus). Beds amazingly comfortable & pillows were awesome! Faulty fan in the bathroom so all the mirrors got fogged & took FOREVER to unfog. Be warned: if your neighbors are foul-smelling pigs, the odor will float into your room. Everyone we dealt with at the front desk was a bit snobbish, except for the awesome girl who checked us out - she was hilarious & helpful! But neither of us felt very safe staying here, let alone leaving our stuff in the room when we went out. Decent attempt at turning this sad place into a cool hotel/hangout, but not successful..

Traveler's tip on dining

If you’re feeling hungry and lazy, order pizza and/or chicken wings from Bellagio’s. Great prices, fast delivery, and the food was AMAZING!!! *drool*

Entertaining and Well Staffed

They were extremely courteous and the entertainment was extrodinary. Although I traveled alone, I did not feel alone, there was always a friendly smile offered by any and all of the staff members. I was veery impressed. Oh the beds... so comfortable!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There was an antique hardware store just a walks distance from the hotel... they had some very interesting merchandise, antiques and collectables worth spending an afternoon browsing.

If you like noisy sleezy hotels pick this one

We arrived later in the evening when the nightclub was going full swing... patrons were all over the roadway so tough to even pull in and no parking available. The condom on the bedside table was also an indication along with the noise that this was not a 3.5 star hotel as advertised

Funky economical stay!

We found this hotel to be perfect for the younger crowd... Cool lounge and great breakfast at onsite Douglas Fir. Although this hotel wasn’t in the center of town, we found that we could walk over the bridge to get to Powell’s and all the other great shopping and dining Portland has to offer. Great place for an economical weekend.

decent for the 20 something crowd but just average otherwise.

comfortable beds, plenty of towels, but the shower water changed from warm to icy to SCALDING randomly. Just awful! no fridge in room, just bare essentials.

Trendy Rockish Hotel

Cool hotel - very young crowd. Not at noisy as I read about in the reviews, but definitely not a quiet romantic get away.

a different experience

I stayed at the hotel a friday and saturday night. The hotel was kind of loud but I had no problem falling asleep. It wasn’t your average hotel, ex. the door was a chalkboard! (which I loved!) It is a great place for younger adults to go for a place to hang out and drink. Will definately stay there again!

cool but smelly!

wonderful concept, great staff, cool design, but the rooms truly need to be "NON-SMOKING"!!! our room smelled soooo bad - like a stale old bar. there was no way to let in fresh air either because the window had no opening. not a good situation for 2 people with allergies! but the venue for bands was marvelous - the food was beyond excellent - i would definately go back for those 2 things!

Traveler's tip on nightlife

very cool venue and excellent food!

Stay there everytime we’re in Portland!

We love the Jupiter! It’s fun, swanky, crazy, loud, and there’s always a party going on.
