Getting to Barker Ranch is quite easy. The road gets a little rough after you pass the ghost town of Ballarat. Any 2wd drive truck or 4x4 can make it. Goler wash road as of may 2007 is still in pretty good shape. On the way up you'll pass the newman mine cabin, and several other mines. There are no road signs pointing you to the Manson Ranch, so look up the directions on the internet. There several good web sites that will show you the way. I've made the trip during the day and also at night (much more fun at night).
