“totally relaxing!”

Golden Tulip Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites

My wife and I stayed at the tara suites for our 25th anniversary and we loved it. The beach is incredible and the hotel rooms are fantastic. Gorgeous views and a nice dark, cool atmosphere in the halls and room. It was so relaxing and you had all the privacy you wanted. Plenty of room on the beach. Aruba is wonderful and Bucuti is top notch. I rented a car and was very comfortable driving in Aruba. It made our dinner reservations very convienant for us but public transport seems adequate and there were always taxis around the hotel. We've been to a bunch of the islands and Eagle beach is the best for us so far. Can't go wrong. We'll be back again!

“Loved Tara Suites and Beach”

Golden Tulip Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites

We stayed 7 nights from May 24th to May 31st.
We enjoyed our room on the third floor of the Tara Suites.
The beach we enjoyed each day. It is the most beautiful
on the island. The high rise area we visited and everyone is
sitting on top of one another with the beach chairs.

The continental breakfast was fine each morning. Next year
they will have a full breakfast included in the rates.

Madame Jeanette Restaurant was our favorite restaurant.
We ate their 2 nights.

We also tried La Dome, which was fancy and indoors.

Passions on the Beach at Amsterdam Manor was enjoyable, seeing the sunset, but the food was just okay.

We enjoyed the Catamaran ride the hotel offered on Friday nights. Unlimited drinks and round trip bus tranportation
from the hotel.

We already rebooked our stay to go back next year, as we would also like to try more of the very good restaurants in Aruba.

“I'm Still Dreaming of This Place One Year Later!”

Awesome is the first word that comes to mind when I think of my honeymoon at Bucuti Beach in July of '07. If you are looking for peace and quiet, relaxation and a BEAUTIFUL atmosphere, this is the place for you! After so many months of planning for our special day this was a welcomed retreat. My husband and I stayed in the Tara Suites Penthouse rooms and were more than pleased. The staff were extremely helpful in planning excursions, etc.

We dined at El Gaucho on one evening and were stuffed! We loved the Flying Fishbone as well...the ambience can't be beat. To sum things up whenever I speak on Aruba and Bucuti Beach, I never utter one complaint. And each time I look at my honeymoon pics I get sad...I miss Bucuti!

“Best place for comfort and peace and quiet.”

Golden Tulip Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites

My wife and I stayed here for our belated honeymoon May 24-June 1st. Other people persuaded us to stay in the busier, more modern high rise area but my wife made the decision to stay in the quieter low rise section. Boy was that the best move to make.
Upon arrival, they did have the champagne and check in was a breeze. We had gotten 2 queen beds accidentally and asked if there was a room available with 1 king size. The manager went through a lot and got us an upgraded room the next morn. They even moved our bags for us and left a honeymoon package waiting for us since we had not told them until we had gotten there (slipped our mind, hey we didnt know!). The staff is completely friendly, and the Pirate's Nest "romantic dinner" is COMPLETELY worth it if you want to indulge in a 5 course meal for 2 on the beach with your own waiter. It really is a great deal for your $$$. The lunch menu is a little lacking, but the bar was great. I had no shame in ordering colorful fruity drinks! Just watch how much you put on your room tab-it can add up quickly. Continental breakfast is what it is, though I had a hot breakfast one day that really had some great bacon!
We went snorkeling one day, but keep in mind you may have to reserve a day in advance because we asked for a set the same day and were told they were all out or hadn't been cleaned for use yet. So we just booked a set for the next day and we got them, easy.
The room bar is pretty nice, but as someone said in another review you can get everything in the little store on the main lobby for regular prices if you just think ahead and not make impulse buys. You WILL need some Aruba Aloe most likely, because that sun is STRONG!
Another review noted some loud sounds and bad smells, we smelled nothing during our stay and there was some renovating being done to the deck of the Pirates Nest, but would you rather they do that during dinner hours? They expect people to be out and about during the day, I would imagine.
The beach, Eagle Beach, is THE BEST if you want to relax with a lot of beach real estate around you. People say they like Palm Beach, but there is no room at all there as most of the sand is covered with chairs and parasols and other structures already in place. It's spatially smaller as Eagle stretches further inland. You can walk through all the low rise resorts by walking on the beach and it's worth it.
My wife was raving about their Intermezzo Spa treatments, specifically the facial she got.
I didn't notice anything weird about their towel service (referring to another review)... or any topless sunbathers on the beach. Trust me, I would have noticed. :-)
There were restrooms everywhere it seemed...which is surprisingly nice and, funny enough, a reading library right next to one restroom. Hopefully people don't combine the 2 too much. :-)
The minimart inside really i a godsend when you just want some cold canned soda. And while youre there check out the Tortuga rum fudge. Its possibly the best I've eaten.
Overrall, an awesome time had, and would definitely make this my first choice to come back. I simply didn't want to leave.
(I will be reviewing the restaurants in their respective entries)

“Bucuti Resort and Tara Suites - Best Beaches in Aruba!”

Golden Tulip Bucuti Beach Resort & Tara Beach Suites

Jun 11, 2008
5/5 found this review helpful

The Bucuti Beach and Tara Suites is a great, smaller style hotel located right on Eagle Beach. A recent renovation to the Bucuti rooms and the addition of the new Tara Suites Tower makes this a good location for honeymooners, anniversaries and couples. The pool was recently upgraded and has great lounge style seating as well as (occasional) server service. You can walk directly from the hotel to the almost private beach that includes lounge furniture and shading umbrellas.

My wife and I just returned and we can say that overall we had a great time. The staff is friendly and accommodating to our needs. When we checked in (we were in the Bucuti rooms) we found ourselves in a double garden view room. We were not excited about the lower floor view and the double beds, so we asked to change and they were easily able to help us to a third level room overlooking the same view from higher up.....much better and a single bed. The rooms are simple, but offer a small mini-bar and refrigerator that can allow you to put some of your own eats and drinks inside. There is a desk, lounge sofa chair and all the basics. High speed internet, if you need it is about $11 per day or you can buy a 7 day pass for $36.

My only real complaint about the Bucuti room was the maid service......the only day that they showed up to clean our room on time was the day we were leaving. We had to ask daily to have our room made up, although the rooms around us seemed to be cleaned on a regular basis. After a day at the pool, and returning to the room between 3pm and 5pm we would have expected it to already be cleaned.

There is continental breakfast included with many of the room packages.....the continental is pretty good and runs until 10am in the Tara Tower or until 11 am at the Pirate's Nest restaurant. The breakfast staff in the Tara Tower is great, friendly and willing to help with anything you need. The breakfast includes various meats, cheeses, bagels, breads, yogurts, fruits, cold cereals, juices and even some vegetables. There are juices, coffees, tea and mocha's. They ask that you do not remove any food from the premises, so show up hungry. We heard that there was a hot food menu at the Pirate's Nest, but we never indulged in that because the continental was plenty.

The Pirate's Nest is the only restaurant on premises....food is good but not spectacular. The happy hour ran from 3pm to 6pm and 9pm to 10pm daily. All drinks were half off and tapas menu was good.

We walked to a few of the other resorts near by, and ours seemed to be the best in the low-rise area. I only saw one or two kids, so this place seems to be for a more quiet crowd.

For the gamblers there is a casino across the parking lot - Alhambra.....all the casino's in Aruba are pretty simple and Alhambra is very simple and smokey.

A few points: Pizza Bob's across the parking lot is a MUST! Try the famous Mexican Pizza. People who eat there will tell you that you must go there at least once and they are right. Huge mugs of Bilashi Beer (local brew) are only $6 each and this is a good deal considering most 8 oz. bottles run about $5 elsewhere.

There is a concierge desk on the property and they can help you with everything from renting a car to all the island excursions. The BEST excursion by far is the ABC Jeep tour. The all day tour will wipe you out and get you dirty, but in one day, you can see all the sites that the local brochures tell you to hit....this leaves a lot more time to shop, eat, gamble and of course lay by the beach and pool.

Overall, I rate this location above average for beach, amenities, staff, location and romance.
