I stayed at playa caleta sept 15-23. I flew sunwing which was great. we left on time and had a bit of champagne on the way there. check in was fast and efficient, i had someone waiting to bring my bags up it was very good. i had an ocean view room which was simply amazing.

food:
the food was good. pasta from the buffet was amazing. the 24 hour food is good to but if you want fries you have to get them before 5pm or they will be all gone. defintily try the fries they will rock your world.

drinks:
the drinks were great they use very good rum. hector at the pool bar is the best for drinks. he can also hook you up with other items you want or need.

room:
like i said i had an ocean view room, the view was amazing, the room was always clean and well taken care of. the maid left little things on the bed made out of towels and stuff it was cool.

the pool was in great shape and the swim up bar was nice. it was a great stay and defintily worth the money i paid.

For anyone who actually travels, here is the truth about Playa Caleta.
I just came back from being there a week, first I will say I have been to Cuba before and had a great time, food was great people were ok, beach great...you get the idea, right?
This was crap!!!
The rooms were nice and clean, but the maid never did anything but put my towels in a new position everyday...AND I gave her gifts ( Candy, chocolate and makeup) each day!! I had changed my contacts the first night and they were still in my garbage by the time I left...but the room was good so moving on....the staff..lol..I have to laugh at the reviews that people say they were good...if in good you mean they sat with EACHOTHER and chatted all day long then yes, they were great! But, they NEVER did activities for us in the day..even when it rained, I didn't even see them around till a few days into the trip.
The bar staff were rude, didn't want to serve you unless you paid and even then it was like Pulling teeth to get a smile.
The front desk satff were the best...NOT what a [--] reception...I gave her money to use the internet, she took it with no problem, then when I tried to tell her it wasn't working she was rude as heck...you can be rude with me..but she was rude to my mother and that's where I have an issue!!!
I'm not a 20 something year old girl, I'm in my 30's have traveled before and expect people in her position to be kind.
In the end she did nothing but take my money..oh ya, and was willing to take another 5peso to "try" and fix the problem.....
Moving on now to the food...it was FREAKING BAD!!!
I know the country doesn't have much, I am not a picky person, I've been before and again it was great...this time the food was so bland, same thing all the time, got shell in my egg!!! ( She made it in front of me!!!) servers were busy feeding themselvs they didn't care there was a cockroach on the table next to us, didn't care if our plates were done and pilling up on the table...UNLESS we paid them asap! Then maybe they would help and give you a cheap smile.

We did however find 3-4 nice people working there, I just wish they had been there all the time.
Maybe it was because we went in off season, but they had enough people from around the world there and they should have been more welcoming.
I will NEVER go there again and I wouldn't suggest it to my worst enemy.
I'm just happy the beach was ok ( oh ya, the sand was not soft, we were at the ghetto part of the beach) the sun was out most of the time and we got home on time!
I would suggest to everyone that Cuba is a great place to go, lots of fun...but please treat yourself to a proper resport and DO NOT GO TO PLAYA CALETA!!!

I've stayed at this hotel two times, once in September of last year & again in November. It is a very simple hotel with clean rooms and courteous staff. It has a large pool with pool bar and great entertainment staff. The beach is very close to the hotel and the views from the ocean view room is amazing..almost like you're sleeping on the beach! If you have children, the only caution i have is, the water drops off very quickly not far from shore. The hotel doesn't have a disco but while i was there i met lots of fun people and we made use of the 24hr lobby bar. Also you're about a 20 mins walk from downtown - you can always try out some of the bars. The food, as many of the reviews say, isn't the best. But you must keep in mind where you are! Lets not complain...you make due with what you have, the fruit is great, good salads & great breakfast and if you enjoy fish, plenty of that to go around. For lunch they also have bbq chicken by the pool and great soup! I would recommend this place and you can usually get a pretty good deal :)

The hotel, pool, beach, everything was beautiful...only gross thing was the food sometimes..and creepy cuban workers that grabbed thir crotch in front of you while you were eating..other than that ..highly recommended!
