As our flight was cancelled, our airline put us up in this hotel. Boy, what a place. This hotel was decorated (and last maintained) when Frankie Goes To Hollywoord was still topping the charts.

Don't be fooled by the posh looks of the lobby, or the friendly staff. This hotel is a dump.

- Isolation between rooms and hallway is horrible. You need earplugs.
- Interior is not only outdated, but also in dire need of thorough cleaning (respiratory problems due to fungus)
- Mattresses have dust elephants beneath them.
- Sewage system in hotel is outdated. Water drains slowly or bubbles up.
- One PC with Internet, for the entire hotel.
- Cheap looks, but not cheap rates.
- 60's office architecture with long, dark hallways
- 2 trapped and caged parrots in Mezzanine smell up the entire lobby.

+ checking out is early (11:00) so you don't have to stay longer than necessary.
+ you can have a good laugh to see what a 1-star hotel looks like.
+ location is good (central)
+ nice view from rooms, although windows don't open and needed cleaning.

It is a mystery to me that this hotel is allowed to dominate the Punda (Willemstad) skyline, with its big tower. My advice: look at the room yourself before you book, or go elsewhere with your money. This place needs to be replaced by a decent hotel. It is not worthy of Willemstad.
