We stayed at that hotel from June 14 to the 21st(7 nights). This was my second stay and this time I decided to bring my wife and kid.

We arrived on a Saturday and immediately noticed the "island" feeling. I was on a business trip and not necessarily ready to wait so long for everything.

National rent a car counter has issues has they are not connected to online reservations (make sure you book well in advance if you want a car there).

We didn't get what Marriott ensure we would get (extra pillows, slippers, extra towels). We asked for a crib and it was broken. We had to ask several time about our rate, when they would be using our points or the preferred rate.

The concierge wasn't helpful and was only there to cut calendars. Said they were going to confirm a reservation with me and never did.

At the end of our stay we ran out of grown up formula and decided to get milk at the coffee shop inside the hotel. This was a mistake since the milk provided and given to our 14 month old baby was spoiled and he threw up everything.
This incident was unfortunate but relatively well handled by the management and security of the hotel as they called a doctor and got us medication for the baby at midnight...

I will go back to the island but not at the Marriott. Next time I will try Avila Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for a week at the beginning of June 2008. We went for relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we got. My husband, myself, and my two boys 8 and 10 had a blast. The service here is unbelievable! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The snorkeling at the hotel beach is the best I have seen in the Carribbean. There are plenty of beach chairs on the sand and around the pool. We rented a car and drove all over the island and found beautiful little beaches all over. We explored caves and had some great hikes. The town offers loads of shopping and delicious meals.

Would highly recommend this island!

I read lots of trip advisor's comments on the Marriott. It was great and we really enjoyed it. We were there for 10 days and have no complaints. The beds were great and the comments about the "tired" furniture...get over it! The food was generally much better than anticipated. I had one not so good meal at the end, but the staff were very apologetic and did not charge me for the dinner and gave us a free dessert.

Be careful on some of the out of the way beaches. We had a very uncomfortable time there with some locals hanging around just sort of staring at us. We left very quickly.

We really enjoyed Fort Nassau and Gouveneurs de Rouville. I believe, but can't confirm 100% that my VISA was copied at Avalon and was used fraudulently. I found this out when I got home.

All in all, great weather, great island and I would go back. We visited the Hilton and it's a dump compared to the Marriott.

Me and 3 girl friends stayed here for 10 days and had the most wonderul time!!
Our first impression of the hotel was WOW!!! the view was superb with the pool and the beach in the background! we wanted to grab our keys and hit the sand as soon as we could! and we were seen to straight away and out sunbathing within 15 minutes!
The service at this hotel could not be faulted! one staff member in particular kevin was an absolute diamond. when we told him we hadn't had a chance to visit cas abou beach he took us and then took us on an island tour! showing us lots of fab places we wouldn't have had the chance to see otherwise.
The restaurant staff were all very friendly and in control! and the concierge staff were really helpful and all of their suggestions for great nights out were spot on!
the room was bright clean and spacious, the towels were clean and fluffy and the air con was cooool!!! the room could not be faulted. the only thing we were a bit unhappy with was that they changed our bed sheets on every 3rd day, however this was our fault as there was a laminated card that you are to leave on the bed should you like to have them cleaned earlier.
the pool is a great size and we especially liked the beach! most of the beaches on the island were very shinglely at the waters mouth but this due to the coral being washed up at the waters mouth. all the beaches were very clean and clear blue white sands etc
the marriott rents snorkels aswell and has watersports which are great fun!!
make sure you go to the yellow tours desk next to reception and book a catamaran day trip to klein curacao on a sunday!! it was amazing!!!
The hotel had lots of nice places to eat and we ate in all of them and found all dishes tasty and the buffets were varied and good value. the board room beach bar did great cocktails!! and the marriott burgers were delicious!!
The only thing lacking was the convinience store, not very convienient!! small selection of ladies sanitary items and strangely only sold low factors of sun lotion!?
This hotel has thought of everything to make your holiday a brilliant one, and all the taxi drivers were impressed when we told them we were staying in the marriott as it has a reputation on the island as being the best hotel, i couldnt disagree!
