“Personalized Service at the Atarazana”

This hotel is located a short walk from the main shopping street. It was really an excellent value and they offer a 10% discount for paying cash. But what I liked most was the personalized service. Katrina was very helpful, checking in on me and giving me advice on restaurants, bars etc. The cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful and the morning breakfast in the courtyard was absolutely wonderful - eggs, fresh fruit, cheese, sausage, fresh juice and coffee. The courtyard is full of lush plants and the resident cat wanders about watching the guests. This is not a luxury hotel but a simple stylish hotel with excellent service.

“Amazing stay at Atarazana!!!”

I loved everything about Atarazana, the rooms were beautiful, light and comfortable and the location can't be beat. I was traveling on my own and the innkeeper (Bernie) made some connections for me to volunteer at a local hospital since I'm a nurse and was looking for a unique experience. He really went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. I couldn't more highly recommend this place!!

“There is no better hotel in Santo Domingo”

This is by far the best hotel in Santo Domingo. The hotel is beautiful, the courtyard is stunning, the innkeepers are first class and very personable. Great location in the Colonial Zone, close to everything.
Susanne was very kind to us and arranged for a cab to pick us up at the airport (Jesus is a great cabbie, speaks fluent English, is very accommodating, and is very reasonable). The breakfast is hearty, healthy & will give you all the energy you need to keep you going during the day. The PC for guests with free internet access is a nice touch. Do end the day with an ice cold Presidente on the roof deck for a great view of the city at night. The only minor issue I had was that the guest rooms are a tad small, however, they are tastefully decorated and meticulously kept by the great housekeeping staff. Susanne was also right on with her recommendations for sights and restaurants.
There is a very good reason why this hotel has been voted as "The Number One Hotel" in Santo Domingo.

“Chic boutique hotel”

This is an amazingly stylish option at a bargain price. The owners Susanne and Bernie have put in a lot of effort to create a relaxing and attractive environment in the old city. They are extremely welcoming and helpful and I also enjoyed the company of their English setter and their fluffy cat. The rear patio, where breakfast is taken and where hosts and guests hang out in the evenings, is a delight. The rooms are comfy, although mine was on the front and was quite noisy at night, what with the sound emanating from nearby bars, traffic entering and exiting the parking lot opposite and activity in the police station next door. It could also have done with heavier curtains to block out the strident street lighting.
All in all though: an excellent place to stay in the historic centre.

“cute and comfortable”

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The place itself was very nice, loved the ambiance and decor of the place. Very clean, very cute. They advertise having internet and also have a computer for you to use (most places say "internet" but really mean " just wifi"). The breakfast in the morning is great! Eggs, meats, bread, fresh fruit, coffee, juice. Exceeded my expectations, great value. Short walking distance to the main area. Id definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. The best hotel (out of 4) i stayed at during my trip.
