Not so great for Honeymooners. We arrived at the hotel, told reception that we are on our honeymoon. Had proof of marriage certificate. Ask for a King size bed, instead we got a two beds in a room. My husband and I slept in seperate beds for 3 nights, it was horriable. Went back to reception, complained and she said Monday we would get a king size bed. Came Monday no room. Spoke with the bell boy which we made friends with. I told him we were sleeping in seperate beds and he was disgusted about it...so he got us a king size bed that same night. No honeymoon packages offered, they said we would get breakfast in bed for one morning, fruit basket and champagne. We got none of that. Very disappointed with the service. The buffet was the same food day in and day out. Beach is crowded with locals on weekends...bar serves at night wasn't pleasent. Bar serves during the day was much more pleasent. Went on a few trips, that was the fun part of my trip. No lifeguards on beach...swim at own risk. I will not be returning to this hotel again. Broken Promises and the service wasn't the greatest. If it wasn't for meeting some people from Canada there, our trip wouldn't have been the greatest. We met about 5 to 6 couples and they said they would not come back to Allegro Playa Dorada.

Well what more can I say about this resort other than saying it will be my third time this year. When we first got there the first time we were a bit skeptical as it was 11:30 ish pm and there was no entertainment. Well except for the little beach bar down the beach playing some music off a computer.

The next day we got better aquainted with the facilities and all the area entertainment. The food was great teh staff awesome yeah the beaches were ot white sand but the sun was incredible and well if the color of the sand is the reasoning for your stay your missing out on all the other stuff.

Danced the night away every night at the Coco bongo and off the resort for most nights. It was great entertainment and great company.

Going back again in a few weeks..... Woohoo cant wait....

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend, this is our review: Rooms are clean and well painted but furniture is from the past century, bathroom was remodeled, it was ok. Food at the buffet "La Palma" was ok, not much variety. Pool was nice, but if you're planning to enjoy a drink while inside the pool, forget it, there is a troop of security staff to prevent you from doing so. There is another guy encharged to stop you if you try to come from the beach to the pool without taking a shower. There is an invasion of domicans during the weekend, including hundreds of kids,be aware. The casino was nice. There are not control remotes for the TV's in the room, you have to ask for one at the reception and sign a contract for it. The night entertaintment was ok, there is no discotheque at the hotel, only a open bar facing the beach after 11:00PM, the sound was awful, no lighting system. Shows at the theater were very nice as well as the hotel staff. Do not expect the beach to have white sand. We'll look for something better next time.

we just arrived home after a week at the occidental allegrp playa dorado resort and we had an amazing time. we left here june 21 and left june 28 and let me tell you that week was not enough. at first i was kinda scared becuase of reading the other reviews but when we arrived i felt comfortable. my sister, and cousin went with me and we are from ages 19-24 and we like to party and also relax and we did it at this resort. if you wanna go to a club and dance go to COCO BONGO!! it within the resort like 3 minutes away walking distance or if you wanna sit and relax than go to the entertianment show inside the resort and they have kids games befroe the do the adult enertainment.
but the entertainment at night was awsome and there would be different entertainment going on every night. Winston and Camoflage are awsome, if you see this please email me [--] i never said bye at the bomb fire. ohh ya and Camoflage Vanessa said sorry for lying and shes mad at you!!

during the week the weather was awsome. and the food was good. we ate at the buffet and than we also booked at the other three resturants they had the grill, italian and mexican. we preffered the italian. the beach was clean. the people would come bye and clean it up every morning. but the people who walk around and asks to bye stuff can get annoying just say no gracias or pretend your sleeping and they will walk away. but other than that everyone was friendly and we meet so many people. we are most differently going back next year!!!i mean with the amount of money you cant bet it.
