The Grand Paradise is anything but GRAND! The A/C in my room was broken when I arrived and they refused to change my room for 3 days!!!!!!!! (be aware of room 6323). I slept on the balcony in a plastic chair because it was to hot in the room. Once they moved me out of the room they instantly put others in the same room knowing that the A/C was broken and they were on their Honeymoon. The staff is very arogant and rude to all their customers, they could care less about your problem and you even have to wait in line to complain because everyone is complaining ! The 2 rooms I stayed in were both infested with CockRoaches, the lamps were broken, and most things were in a state of disrepair in both rooms. I've stayed in motel 6's that were a Hilton compaired to this place! The food was horrific! Lost about 5lbs from a diet of pinapple for a week because the rest of the food was nasty. Thier so cheap there that the maids were digging the used shampoo bottles out of the trash and refilling them for reuse!!! Dont stay here - Go to the Magestic Colonial I had friends staying there and it was absolulty wonderful ( I went there to visit 2 times with a day pass). This was the first vacation I've ever been on that I couldnt wait to be back home and at work it was so bad!!!! The grounds and pool were well kept, but everything else was a nightmare - once they have your money they dont care if your happy with your stay or not.

This was my second time to Punta Cana and at this hotel. My first stay was wonderful. So i decided to go back with my boyfriend. What a mistake. The first day we got there our door was broken the repairman didn't know how to fix it and my boyfriend ended up doing it. Plus we gave him a $ 10 tip before hand thinking he knew what he was doing!

The remote for our tv did not work we went down to the reception area and were given 3 different controls.

We were than given a $ 5.00 credit to use at the Casino and when we actually won they took the 5.00 away from us.

One night we went to dinner and were not given any sort of drink, we asked 4 times. I must say the food was great. But thats all.
At dinner one night we got up to go get desert and we returned we found out that our table had been given away!

Hi! I came back a few days ago from Punta Cana and I wish I were still there!

We were 3 girls between 20-25 years old and we booked this hotel considering we had a very good price. Since I read a lot of bad reviews before leaving, I was concerned about our choice, but I'm glad I went because the reviews were wrong. I can't believe people complain so much on vacations... It is my third trip in an all-inclusive (twice in Cuba, 1st time in DR) and it was as nice as the other 4-4 1/2 * hotels I've been to.
Here's my review:

CHECK-IN: 45 minutes ride from the airport. Very fast check-in (5 minutes) but there were only people for 3 rooms...Don't forget to pay for the safe (20$) because they won't ask you.

ROOM: Very neat, A/C worked well. Nice balcony. Beds comfortable. Fridge was stocked daily woth water - Coke - Sprite. Bathroom was minimal but clean. However, be aware that you cannot put toilet paper in the toilet otherwise toilets tend to block... and they really do! And it can be long before someone comes, so be careful!

GROUNDS: Very nice, very well maintained. Big site but efficient transport system and everything is at a walking distance. It is the cleanest place I've been to.

POOLS: Two pools on the main site, one with animation and music. Two pools on the Club site, both with a swim-up bar, one with animation (all in french). Very clean, nice design, nice scenery around the pools.

FOOD: Main buffet on the main section was closed during our stay but beach buffet was open. You could go to the Club Section if you wanted better selection. Main buffet on the main section opened on our last day: very big, large selection of items, always stations of fresh omelettes and crepes for breakfast; pasta bar and meat stations for lunch and dinner. Nice variety from day to day (different theme every night).
A la carte restaurants: Asian and grill were closed during our stay. We went to Italian (very good), International (good) and Dominican (average).

BEACH: The highlight of the resort. VERY nice beach, white sand, turquoise water, palm trees on the beach, very large, lots of loungers. It was always possible to find shadow but palapas were impossible to get. If you want to do snorkeling, there is a small section with coral at the left of the swim section, where we saw many different kinds of fish.

SERVICE: We had a very good service. Employees were always smiling and singing, whether you gave tip or not.

There are, however, a couple of things that could be changed:
- It is impossible to get change to tip employees at the reception. There is no bank on the site and the lobby and the gift shop never have small cuts for pesos or American money. We had to get change in the a la carte restaurants...
- There was no ice cream on the main site, which was disappointing considering the very hot temperature!
- The music was not so good: sometimes, in the afternoon, they played Eric Clapton, Dido, Bon Jovi...
- Once again, the toilets issue could be taken care of... New pipes please!!!

We had a very nice trip at Grand Paradise Bavaro and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Go with an open mind and enjoy, don't forget: you're on vacation! Have a good trip!

Our friends were getting married in Punta Cana at the Majestic Colonial and we booked out trip too late and there were no rooms available at the Majaestic. The travel agent said Grand Paradise was just as nice and next door. All lies, well the just as nice part. My husband and I requested a room with a king size bed and were placed in a room with 2 queens. There was no remote for the television and the phone was sticky and had a nasty smell that was unidentifiable. The food was horrendous and no one spoke english. We requested a room change and had to wait 2 nights before being moved. We were also charged eight dollars to get a remote control for the tv. We made reservations for their Italian restruant and were denied service because my husband had on flip flops, yet he had on long pants and a button down shirt. Meanwhile they allowed another man in jean shorts and a tshirt with "sandals" on in for dinner. We were annoyed but I reasoned that their Italian food would have sucked anyway and we live where they make the best Italian food at home so who cares. As I said before our friends were at the Majestic Colonial so we went over there to see them and we shouldn't have. As soon as you walk in you know how much the Grand Paradise is lacking. We felt like step children the rest of the week. If anyone wants to go to Punta Cana stay at the Majestic. If it is booked, wait until you can get a room. It coss more but who cares? Have a nice vacation where things are done well instead of medicocre. Majestic is more americanized also for Americans who are wanting to converse with other guests in English. (No offense to any one else) Bavaro had my husband and I representing the states. Hope this helps anyone trying to decide where to stay.
