“Nice, but ask for what you want”

We booked an ocean front suite for the week of Thanksgiving.
When we checked in we were given a ground floor room that looked at a walkway. We went back to the front desk and requested a better room. We then had a great room on the fifth floor overlooking the pool and ocean.
We requested beer for our refrigerator and were told no by the front desk and housekeeping. When I asked the general manager, I got the beer and an apology from both the front desk and housekeeping managers. The beach is small and shared, but this is not a problem. There are plenty of lounges at both the beach and pool but no floats. The activities folks seem to be available, but unless you ask for an activity, they assume that you don't want that activity. We only played beach vollyball once all week.
The buffet is quite limited in choices but the restaurant is quite good. We ended up eating at the restaurant every day and then went to the buffet for desert.
Bottom line, it is a nice resort (small with limited options) but if you want something, you have to ask for it and sometimes ask the general manager if you do not get what you ask for the first time.

“Great Bar Staff”

Breezes Montego Bay

We just returned from this hotel early this morning and I was glad to be back to Canadian food. The food was not the greatest, my husband and I both got sick. We read the reviews but thought we would go anyway since it is a Superclubs resort and their reputation should speak for itself. Well, let me tell you Superclubs should be embarrased by this resort. We have stayed at Breezes Curacao, Starfish Trewlany superclubs resorts and those two were way better than this one. We also typically travel 2 to 3 times a year and have stayed at the Riu chains, Barcelo chains, Sol chains and many many other resorts in the Caribbean.

The Superclubs website claims that this hotel has had renovations done, well, our room had some minor things such as what looked like new bedding, window coverings and leather-look vinyl furniture in the living room area but there was dirty floor tiles, broken shampoo/conditioner dispenser, rust around the tub, chipped and dirty vanity in the bathroom and the railing around the balcony was looking less than safe. We were disappointed to say the least. The nicest thing about our room was the view of the beautiful ocean.

The Entertainment staff are not the greatest, everyday they would post the daily acitivies - typical water sports, bingo etc., but they would rarely do any of them. At night they did have a nice band that played however, since we both did not feel well from the food, it was hard to enjoy them.

The food was pretty much gross. I am a pretty picky eater so I was expecting that I would not find much to eat anyway but my husband will eat anything and he was having a hard time with the spicy food. Even the fish was spicy and I love the fish that you get in the Caribbean - it is different from the fish we have here. There is no omelet station in the buffet resturant, if you want an omelet you can order one but I have always loved the typical omlet stations. I must say though the bagels they have are great. The only thing that I really liked about the food was the grill - Kemar was a great cook and helped to make our stay more enjoyable with his great company on those late nights that we waited to eat our supper.

The beach is a public beach but there was little to no harrassement from any of the locals. The week that we were there, there was 2 crusie ships that came in so many people flocked to Doctor's Cave beach but security did a great job of keeping them off the "Breezes Beach".

We were the only people off of our flight that were going to this resort so they send a car for us and check in was a breeze - the front counter staff are great. One thing that did get me a little concerned was they took the section of the immigration form that you need to get out of the country but they did have it when we checked out so all was well.

I would not suggest that you go to this resort until Superclubs can clearly prove that they have done some major overhaul. It is a complete waste of money - we did upgrade to the Oceanfront Suite and thank goodness we did since the other rooms are about the size of a closet. We feel that we overpaid for the place and although we made the best of our week, we were disappointed in the end.

If you are thinking of booking a Superclubs resort, don't go to this one they have other resorts that are much nicer for the same money.

We will miss the humor that we got from the bar staff, they truly helped in making our stay more enjoyable! Also, if you have booked and would like some early morning entertainment, sit in the pool patio at breakfast (we were there about 7:30 am) and you can watch the mice run around! And for early evening entertainment, sit in the same place and listen to the local people whistle from the other side of the wall trying to get your attention to purchase 'things'

I hope that if you are going you have a good time, it is a beautiful view of Montego Bay and do take advantage of the glass bottom boat ride - it was one of the highlights of our trip. We would have liked to try the waterskiing but it was not offered and we didn't see a boat that could take us out anyway.

“Great stay - Minor concerns”

This vacation was taken with 25 other friends and family members from Rochester, NY and Atlanta, GA. Spent 5 nights. Heard minor discomforts about the rooms. Rooms were small, and a few other nuisances. I was fortunate enough to get a upgrade to an ocean view - It was lovely! Housekeeping great. A full range of activities was organized each day by a hard working entertainment staff. The well trained, professional staff at Jimmy's Buffet consistantly displayed top shelf hospatality. They made you feel welcome from when you entered - to when you left. Ground travel from hotel to airport was acceptable. Security was always available.
Hotel should pay more attention to the repairs needed to the physical structure. We found water leaks in the hall ways and repairs in the rooms not of the highest quality. Food was great more variety would have been appreciated. All and all a good time at a good price.

“b+ because of the service”

We had our wedding here! The wedding was beautiful with no stress to us. The wedding planner donna was wonderful and I would recommend a wedding here any day. The hotel is old, and does need a little updating, the hot water is warm at best and the toilet needs a few flushings! Our whole family was here so we saw a wide variety of rooms....I would recommend a suite.

The staff was GREAT!!!! Bartenders Horace, Mark and Dacia showed us a
good time. This is not the hotel to go to if looking to be pampered and relax.....if you are young and want to party this is the place to
go. The other reviews state the propositions that you get on the beach....especially at night so its available if you want, if not just tell them to go away--they are no harm. SERVICE HERE WAS GREAT...and for that reason alone we would return

“Lots of fun considering...”

Hi all who are looking at staying at this resort.

Ok so we just got back from Breezes Oct 16th. Our ages 34 and 27. Remember this is rainy season and therefore the slow season. I wouldn't recommend going during the rainy season. It rained on us for 2 days straight. Not alot to do during this time but we made the best of it. First off this place is not a dump. Yes it is an older hotel and that is probably why it is given a 3 star rating. We started off in a cabin room, avoid these at all costs. Got moved to a ocean view because our AC broke. Much better. One thing to note though is we dont go away to spend time in the room.

Front desk service - ok, hard to get service in a timely fashion. Unless you get the right person.

Food / service - Food was great much better than cuba thats for sure. Cooks are also great they go out of your way to please you.
Table prep and cleaning was also excellent.

Activities - Nightly / daily entertainment was ok but the hotel was not busy and it was hard to get participation but it was easy to win lots of prizes if you did. The entertainment staff was really good. Get to know them it will make your time there much more enjoyable.

Water sports - were great and they were very willing to help you out.

Beach - was awesome and so was the water. Except that sea urchin that nipped me in the foot, however totally my fault. Yes there are drug dealers on the beach but once they know your face they will leave you alone. Just say your good. The security guards do try to keep them at bay. Just ignore them.

Bar staff - amazing and so where their drinks.

Pool - yes it is a small pool but who goes to Jamaica to spend time in the pool.

Excursions - they had a lot and they were kind of pricey. However if you make nice with some of the workers they all have friends that can get you to where you want to go for a fraction of the price. The tours always take you to places where the driver gets his cut for taking you there. We did the Dunns Falls.. It was fun but kind of slow going.

The street / town - Be prepared to be hassled. Yes it was elevated because it was slow season but it got to the point where i didnt want to venture out there. Yes there are many drug dealers and they will try to slip you something even though you tell them repeatedly no. Yes they were a pain in the [--] as they were at the beach but after the second day of you telling them your good they will leave you alone or just ignore them.

Another important note- if around locals they will put stuff on you like bracelets and necklaces and then look for money. Dont let them get to that point much easier. Dont take anything unless you are prepared to buy it.

Overall - Well we had a good time although we were glad to of met 4 other great couples our age that we spent alot of time with. Im not sure if we would have had such a good time if it wasnt for that. But it was rainy season. Get to know all the resort workers. There their to please you. And they will sit and talk with you if they have the time. Its a good way to learn how things operate in Jamaica.

Will i go back to this resort? Probably not.
Will i go back to Jamaica? Not sure.

Hope that helps you out.
