“Had a blast”

Breezes Montego Bay

My boyfriend and I chose this hotel after reading A LOT of reviews on various hotels. We had a fantastic time even though some of the staff could have been more friendly.

Let's start with the positives:
*the location is great (close to airport, beach and hip strip)
*good selection of food each day
*fun water sports and activities
*EXCELLENT entertainment staff and fun ways to win free rum! To be honest, I was really impressed with this department because the crowd was not the most enthusiastic, but the staff were never deterred.

Things to improve:
*hire new staff in the bar and at front desk. Definitely not the most friendly people around, but we didn't deal with them too much so it wouldn't be a reason for us not to return
*yes, the rooms are small, but how much time do you really spend in your room when you're vacationing on an island???

“Just OK”

I stayed at Breezes Mobay July 5th for 2 nights. It was just OK. I obtained the room for a great price thru a travel auction site so I paid probably half of the going rate. The property is very old, outdated and small. However, my "cabin" room was decent. It was clean and comfortable although VERY small and walls were thin. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Food was good. Repetitive but filling (If you don't like Jamaican food, stay away). There is only one small buffet style restaurant on site and one other (italian) restaurant that is open certain days. I didn't try out the Italian restaurant. There is only one bar also (by the pool) other than the bars in the nightclub. The entertainment thru out the day and night was excellent....very creative and fun. Would I stay here again? Yes, if I got a extremely low rate (say less than $120 per nt) otherwise, No way, it's not worth it. Compared to American standards, It's like an all inclusive Red Roof or Days Inn. However, if you get a good rate and you want a cheap all inclusive with all you can eat and drink (and don't really care about the cosmetics) than go for it. Oh yeah, the beach was beautiful and relaxing, the watersports team were awesome and the nightclub was almost emply but nice club, good music and good drinks..just no customers.

“Married and Honeymooned at Breezes Montego Bay”

Breezes Montego Bay

Let me begin by saying that the best part of Breezes Montego Bay was and is Donna Philpotts, our wedding coordinator.

She was 100% great in every way and felt huge trust that my wedding would be good and it was.

We had a beach wedding which was lovely. All the decorations were lovely and the pastor was really nice and respectful. Everything we requested was delivered promptly and beyond our expectations thanks to Donna.

The reception hall was nice and a great size for our party of 10. Teh catered food was the best I had while I stayed at the resort and it was perfect for our guests and the event.

Donna even kept in touch with us throughout our stay and gave us newlywed t-shirts as well which were cute.

However the resort itself wasn't very good at all. I've been to many all inclusive resorts that were much better and cheaper. All the staff except the bar always had an attitude and looked at you like you wasting their time.

We tried to get a room upgrade and was denied. Also the elevator was broken half the time and I had to bring my own bag up the stairs to the 4th floor and back down when my wife and I checked out!

The room was tiny and a lil dirty when we first entered. The "Oceanview" we had was terrible and overlooked part of the water. The room had an aweful bleach smell that never seemed to go away and also remained musty and held alot of moisture on the walls. Also every room in the resort also had thin walls so you can hear every bit of noise coming from all directions from cleaning people dusting to construction from the outside. There was always noise at every time of the day. Also my brother had booked a separate room and had to use ear plugs to block the sound. Also his A/C was leaking water all over his clothes in the closet !

Also water sports staff was the worst of all. Since when is a hobbie cat ride the same as sailing the same as anything. They had HUGE ATTITUDES and never worked, always lazy and talking among themselves.

One of my biggest problem as well was the fact that every time I went out on the beach at any time with my wife, we always had multiple people trying to sell us weed and they wouldn't take no for answer and always hung around so I stayed away from the beach a lot of the time. Security was horrible since they never did anything about it and probably got a cut from them to keep their mouth shut.

The buffet food was the worst I've ever had. Even Vegas' worst buffet was better in comparsion to the ultra salty, ultra processed food at the resort. I felt the need to eat away from the resort since the dining hall had the worst hours for meal times.

All in all, you can find better for your money and get twice as much and better service elsewhere.

“Couldnt leave any faster!!”

Breezes Montego Bay

Jun 29, 2008

On June 19, 2008, I arrived at the Breezes hotel In Montego Bay around 2 pm in the afternoon. We arrived at the hotel ready to check in and were told that our rooms were not ready. We were told that our rooms would be ready shortly.

We went to the pool area to get something to eat and wait , even though we were hot and eager to get to our rooms and change. We decided to go inquire about our rooms after about an hour. We were told that our rooms were not still ready and we asked why? The response we received was that " We cant say". We asked numerous times what did that mean and we were each time met with the same answer.

After over 2 hours and no satisfactory answer , we overheard other guests complaining that they had been waiting since 11:00am that morning. Also , we met a guest
who had not been placed in a room from the previous night. After much ranting and raving and talkiing to the manager , we finally were able to get our room. The next issue was that later when we went to shower, there were towels for 1 1/2 people and we were a party of 3. We called the front desk for extra towels and told they would be brought right up. We waited for 1 1/2 hours and finally we went to the desk and asked where our towels were. We were told that there were no more towels. This is one of the numerous times when this hotel did not display good customer service. We again had to ask to speak to the manager
to complain that nobody could call us and let us know that there were no towels . We received their half hearted apology and hours later we received towels.

The final straw was dinnner , the food looked unappealing and tasteless. I refused to even taste the food due to its gross appearance. At times , we observed that the staff was very rude and condesending at times. We were very unhappy and decided that we were not going to be miserable for the next couple of days. We tried to contact Expedia to help us to leave and transfer to another hotel. But we got the run around from them and they were of no help to us.

We asked to meet with the manager on duty. We expressed our displeasure with the customer service and that we felt uncomfortable to further our stay at the hotel. After much discussion , the manager arranged for us to leave in the am. We were instructed to come to the front desk at 10am and all the arrangements would be finalized and ready.

At 10am , the next morning we went to the front desk packed and ready to go. Of course , we were told that that manager was in a meeting and surprise , surprise no one knew anything about our transfer to the next hotel. We sat in the hotel lobby and waited close to an hour and come to find out the manager wasnt even in the building. We didnt get help unitl one of the bell hops decided to help us.

Finally , the manager walks in and soon after everything is finalized. The manager didnt come to talk to us or apologizes for the delay in the transfer, until we told the bellhop that her name would be in a letter to corporate. We were given a voucher for a credit for the evening we stayed there and had to sign a wavier form.

We were transfered to Hedonism II , since Breezes Runaway Bay was booked up. This also was part of the Superclubs resort. the customer service was excellent and we enjoyed the rest of our stay on the island..

Let Breezes Montego Bay be your last resort !
