“No problem mon!”

After countless hours on this website searching for a hotel on seven mile beach in Negril, I finally decided on Seasplash, what a great choice! The location is perfect, just about the middle of the long white sand beach, in between the all-inclusives and the smaller hotels. It's an easy walk in either direction. On the beach everything is walking distance. The staff was super friendly and helped book tours and answer questions. The rooms were clean, private and spacious. We had a junior suite with a king size bed, T.V., phone, coffee maker, air con, hair dryer, and screened windows. All this amidst beautiful lush gardens. The hotel had full amenities, including a pool and jacuzzi that never close, perfect for a late night swim!
The food in Jamaica is so yummy! There's a patty stand just next door to the hotel, and jerk chicken anywhere is awesome. And the Blue Mountain coffee, so good to wake up to.
Norma's restaurant serves delicious meals, and the service is first class.
Margaritaville... what can I say? We ate there often, breakfast and dinner. The price is very reasonable and the food is great. Try the jerk chicken quesedillas and the jerk burger, wash it all down with a raspberry or mango daquiri, full of Jamaican rum!
There are live music shows every night somewhere on the beach, just take a walk and follow the sweet sounds of reggea!
Mayfield waterfalls is a great day trip worth the money, and Rick's cafe good for cliff jumping. There are all kinds of watersports offered along the beach, as well as anything else you could want, from hair braiding and to ganga (it is illegal, but you'll smell it everywhere, just be sensible), to fruit and souveniers. If you're not interested, simply say no thank you, and if you are, don't forget to bargain! Bagain for taxi's as well, and only use taxi's with red license plates, they are official.
Anyway, I absolutely loved Jamaica, and can't wait to go back. Yeah Mon!

“Very nice, small hotel - bit of a distance from night life though”

Stayed in a junior suit - very comfortable with queensized bed and fridge etc, although it was quite a dark room. Note that none of the rooms have a view of the sea. We were on ground level and had a nice little area with table and chairs outside the room facing the gardens (with regular visits from humming birds and some small lizards). Beach is close to the rooms and beautiful. Location is very good for the beach but its about 2.5 miles to the roundabout - I did walk it but its a long stretch. Only compaint was the cost of using the internet - very excessive. For a lunchtime snack and drink go to the little shop/kiosk to the right of the resort (when looking from the sea) and get 2 patties and 2 red stripe beers for about 350 JA dollars - you can also get coconut bread and put the pattie in it - very tasty and filling. Another tasty snack bun and cheese.
If you turn right after leaving the resort , cross the road and walk about 300 yards you come to the Cool Spot. Its a local restaurant which serves chicken with rice & peas for non tourist prices. Very good breakfasts e.g Callaloo with salt fish. They also do a take-away.
When you want to go to other places in the area flag down route taxies. JA$100 per person anywhere from far east to west. Use these to get to Alfreds, Ricks Cafe and the internet cafe at the west end that charges just JA$100 per hour
A good trustworth taxi driver is Althea. She is quite large and can be found at the taxi rank on the road that leads to sweet spice. By the way dont bother going to Sweet spice - very poor service e.g customer " do you have any Sour sop" waitress "no" and off she goes. Very brash approach, supposed to be a local restaurant but packed with tourists paying tourist prices.

There is a little restaurant if you turn left out of the back of the resort that has tables actually on the beach - if you go there wear long trousers and thick socks - it had rained the day we went there and also being the evening sandflies attacked and bit every spare bit of flesh on my legs. It took over a week for the bites to go down!

One last tip - obviouse to many and I should have known better - Do not use private money changers - very clever method of underpaying you and they stand near the bank so just use the bank.

“Beautiful, Intimate setting”

We went to Seasplash as part of a close friend's wedding. I have to say right off in the beginning how nice the entire staff was while we were there. This was our first trip to Jamaica.

The positives...
I would go back to Seasplash in a heartbeat. We really enjoyed that it was a smaller resort and very quiet. All of the foods that we ate as well as the prices were excellent at the restaurant. We never got sick from the food at all. At the end of our stay we expected our room charge to be much higher than it was. The sunsets are breathtaking. The stretch of beach it is located on is stunning and walked for miles in either direction when we felt like we wanted to be around a lot of activity. The pool (a little small) and hot tub never closed which was another plus.

The negatives...
The only part of the trip that seemed to bother people that we noticed was being approached constantly by the locals on the beach to buy things. I have been to other resorts where they have security to prevent that from happening. Honestly, we were fine with it and actually purchased some items from different locals (loved Sweetie's stand on the beach). They seemed to be very appreciative. The water pressure wasn't so great, in fact sometimes had no water during the day in our rooms but figured it out early enough that we planned our showers around it. One thing is our beach towels that we brought with us and a pair of sandals were left out on the porch to dry were "taken" and never found. Also, our room was a little musty but a scented candle in our suitcase amended that problem quickly. Lastly, it was difficult at the airport trying to get into the right bus to our resort. Many people will try to fool you, be firm and smart about getting to your designated transfer.

I am looking forward to planning our next trip and would consider going there again.

I visited Seasplash amonth ago, it was my daughters birthday, so we planned a trip to Jamaica, we were thinking about an all inclusive at first but then decided to do a small hotel.

The hotel is very clean and tropical, there are beautiful fauna all around the birds would come out in the mornings and it felt really romantic.
It is located just about 40 minutes from the airport and was quite a scenic view, when we got to the hotel we were quite amazed at the helpful staff.
The room I got was a suite which included a kitchinette and patioo overlooking the gardens with a partial ocean veiw, I actually got room 6 which is very nice.
This little hotel is located right on the seven mile beach strip and has a great restaurant called Normas.
I read about it but never knew that it was that great.

The staff was excellent and the food marvellous.
It is located walking distance from margaritaville and a new waterpark about 2 minutes away, my daughter enjoyed it, nevertheless she never wanted to leave , so we'll be back next year......... the beach is white sandy and believe me the best beach I've ever been.
SeaSplash we'll definately be back!

“Loved Every Minute”

I travelled to Negril with my two children and we had a wonderfull time. The security men were very on top of it and I there was a life guard at the pool for the kids. The rooms were clean and had that wonderfull cottage like Caribean style. We have already planned to go next year. If you go chat up the nice young manager who really made us feel at home.

Also if you are interested in fine food Norma's dining is a journey into nirvana. Try the papaya daquerie it is scrumptious!!!!!!!!

Thank you everyone at Seasplash,

Respect! Mary Jasper
