I spent the first three days of my vacation at Coral Seas Garden, and then the next four days at Coral Seas Cliffs.

Positives: nice airconditioned room, comfortable bed, for the area, actually some decent water pressure in shower, nice pool, right across the street from the beach, good food, clean and maid service was very nice.

Negatives: they need a crossing guard for the busy street, and not so many offers of a 'bodyguard' or what have you. Just because I am single and female didn't mean that I was there to 'get my groove back', although it was a bit flattering at first.

For the location and price I paid, I think I got my money's worth. I got a good deal with Negril Onestop, and only paid $80 a night for the 'semi-AI'.

One minor complaint..at both coral seas resorts, they had no bananas the entire week I was there...so no dirty bananas, hummingbirds, or any other drinks like that, but at least at Coral Seas Garden they tried to make up for it by making a 'dirty papaya' which was pretty good.

If I could have Coral Seas Garden treatment and room (with some bananas!) at the Coral Seas Cliffs with their view it would have been a far better vacation. But as it was, I shouldn't complain too much because I got my money's worth, since the price was very good.

I booked my stay at Coral Seas via their website using my credit card. The website showed several different room types available for my chosen dates, I chose a room with a kitchen.
About 3 weeks before I was set to leave for the trip I called the hotel to confirm my reservation. Much to my dismay they told me that they saw that I had a reservation but that they had no room available for me. I explained that they had already charged my credit card for the stay, and their response was that they could refund my card. I explained that that was not acceptable as I had bought plane tickets and was set to arrive for my stay at their hotel during one of the busiest times of the year (new years) and at this late date it would be impossible to find a room anywhere else.
We went back and forth for awhile and she finally told me that she would do her best and get back to me later.
I decided to try to call the hotel manager to see if mybe he could help. I explained the whole situation to him, and he told me tha he was going to look in to the situation and get right back to me.
I NEVER herd from him again.
Later that evening I recieved a call from the lady that I originally spoke to, she told me that she was able to find me a room however it was a standard room with no kitchen, but that I would be switched to a room with a kitchen after the 2nd day.
Great, I thought, at least I have a room!!!
I arrived at the hotel after a long day a travel tired and ready to relax, only to find out that the room was not ready. It was 5:00 pm.
They told me to come back in about 45 min. I took a walk and returned a hour later only to find that it was still not ready, however they lead me to the room anyway and I waited as the maid cleaned it.
On the morning of the 3rd day I went to the front desk to see what time I could switch rooms only to find out that she had no idea what I was talking about. I was never moved into the room with the kitchen that I had paid for.
What a mess.
The hotel itself was ok. I must say that I am not a picky traveller, so my idea of ok may be someone elses nightmare.
The room was a little dark and dingey. Most of the other guests that I saw while I was there were Jamaicans vacationing.
I never once saw any security and a couple times felt a little uneasy as our room was in the back of the property.
I would like to add that even after they had told me that there were no rooms available for me after I had already paid, the website would still allow me to make a reservation and pay via credit card. So BEWARE!!! DO NOT book via the internet!!!!!

I've been to Negril 4 times and each time i've stayed at the Coral Seas Property once at the beach site and three times at the garden site. I loved that the help at the desk was and always is very helpful and responsive to all my needs. I always go with a friend and we both love it there. A little walk to the beach and it is quiet just what we like the people are always friendly and courteous. This is not a five star hotel but the accomodations a fine, it has just what you need bed, a/c, tv, phone and slow room service but room service. I've always had a great time there and if i go to Jamaica this year that's where you'll find me at Coral Seas Garden!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I just returned from Coral Seas, and I am not too happy. Let me begin by saying, that my boyfriend booked this place via hotwire.com for $38 a night. So we got what we paid for.

But we were misled. Coral ranks itself as a 3-star, which far from the truth.
Why?
1. Towels were stained.
2. Ants and flies were all too common in the room.
3. The walls were dirty.
4. A security guard was seen once during our 3-night stay.

What did we like?
1. The staff was very nice. They did clean up the bugs and gave us fresh towels.

P.S. Eat at Montana's Cafe (next to the Jungle Nightclub). Tony and his wife, Sascha, are honest folks. They can find you fair taxi drivers and tour guides. If we could, we would stay with them. They make Negril fun and safe. Plus the food rocks!!!! And is under $11 a plate.

This was my second time staying @ Coral Seas, the first time in June 2006, and then again in Aug.2006, it must be something good, for me to want to go and stay at the same place, why I like this Resort is because it is always has a comfy feeling to it, maid service is great, thanks( Melinda) hope I got her name right, I stayed in #109a which had a large kitchen, (4) burner stove and with a oven, grounds are kept in great shape the groundsman is out early in the morning tending to the plants and cleaning the yard which he is very pround of , when you see it you well see the love he puts into it,I had read some earlier reviews how the front desk was not friendly not once did I have a problem always respectful to you and your Problems if you had any, we must remember if you want respect you have to give respect and Thank you goes a long way, also you may even get to see the owner while there , he does come and checks the place to make sure things are running smooth, you are also close to nightlife, jerk-stands for those that do not cook, right across from the beach and if you want to walk to town go for it, walking in Jamaica is and experinceJamaica is Jamica and I love it can not wait until next year to go back and I will be staying at Coral Seas Garden, Just wanted you to know also that my room had screens on the windows very few bugs, hot and cold water, and also airconditoner, so folks it is what it is Jamaica hot , fun, and relaxing and you can get that @ Coral Seas Garden Peace!!!P.S. I got this great room for $56.00 a day loved it.
