Just back from our second time at East Winds and it has impressed us even more than the last time. Staff fantastic, setting breathtaking and the atmosphere just right for the sort of holiday we needed. Only down side - no espresso machine..Or was that why I was so relaxed?
With the dollar as it is right now, this has to be a bargain for UK travellers.
St.Lucia itself is starting to get a little overcrowded with a lot of holiday property being built- and I hope that the developments around East Winds are kept in check otherwise we will lose this wonderful bolt-hole.
For now, however, compliments to the management and team for a great experience.

“A Tropical Hideaway”

We have just returned from a fantastic two week holiday at East Winds.
The hotel's website gives an accurate description of the rooms but does not do justice to the wonderful setting in spectacular and spacious tropical gardens.
The beach and adjoining areas are very good but are not outstanding.
All of the public areas of the hotel such as the bars and restaurant are of a very high standard.
The hotel is run extremely well by the General Manager, Gareth Leach, who clearly has an eye for the detail needed to run a successful, guest orientated resort. The general level of attention, service and consideration offered to guests is faultless.
One of the greatest assets of the resort is the staff who all work very well as a team with a single aim of looking after their guests. Gareth should be proud of the team he has gathered around him (not forgetting the parrots, Mac and Eric!).
The only quibble I have is with the food. Having read the reviews on this website I was expecting a very high standard. However, my expectations were not met. The quality of the food is very variable. Some meals, such a the seafood/cold meat buffet lunch were excellent, most of the others were good/average but I found about 2 or 3 dinners uneatable. I believe this is an area where some attention is needed to achieve a greater level of quality and consistency.
However the issue with the food in no way detracted from an overall excellent holiday.
Thank you Gareth.

We had the most amazing time at the East Winds Inn. The setting was like paradise - small chalets set in a botanical garden which at night, with it's lights and the sound of the wildlife was like a fairy glen. The resort then lead down on to the beach where there was an amazing open-air restaurant. The evenings were superb, cocktails at the bar, a new menu every night (I think this rotated each week or two weeks) most nights was a la carte with service, food and wine as good as any top restaurant, other nights was a BBQ with fresh fresh and meat. You could even have a table set for you on the beach. The evenings were the best bit! The staff were all so friendly and warm, nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful, 5* standard. St Lucia was nice and we saw lots of lovely and interesting things but it was the East Winds Inn that really made this the best holiday I've ever had. Most of the guests had been there before, one couple 10 times so that speaks for itself. We'll struggle to find a honeymoon destination that's nicer! Only thing I'd say is that it's quiet, not much evening entertainment and the guests are generally older so its a holiday for ultimate relaxation in a sophisticated setting. I'd only ever stay here if we returned to St Lucia.

My husband and I have recently returned from a wonderful 9 night holiday at East Winds.
Gareth and his team make the whole experience an absolute pleasure. Every member of staff is helpful, efficient and very smiley.
We have never booked an all inclusive holiday before, and, before I had read the reviews of East Winds, thought that 'all inclusive' was only for large, more unappealing (to us) hotels. East Winds couldn't be further from that image.
This hotel and management seem to have the balance of service just right.
The accommodation is charming, kept very clean and well stocked with clean towels (which also mean't a clean supply of beach towels every day) which isn't always the case.
We met some lovely people whilst we were there, and I think the fact that the hotel resort is very small and intimate and that everything you could possibly want is included in the price of the holiday, it really lends itself to making friends and socialising if that is what you want, and if you want to just be by yourself - I certainly didn't ever feel this would be a problem.
It rained quite a lot whilst we were in St Lucia, and although at first it was a little disappointing (as April should be the driest month), we soon got into the mindset that ok we would probably get wet at some point during the day - but it didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying our stay and we still did everything we wanted to do.
As you can surely tell - we would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay somewhere with lovely surroundings, on a nice beach with very personalised service.

Our highest praises for the East Winds! As owners at the adjacent resort, Windjammer Landing, we often frequent the wonderful East Winds Inn. Although we can not comment on the quality and atmosphere of the rooms, the food and beverage, as well as the service, is 5 star through and through. Frankly, the best on the island! Both in our 30's, we have been to St. Lucia 7 times and can comment with some authority. Chefs Didier and Vincent are amazing and can hold their own against the best around the globe - truly! During a recent dinner, Vincent prepared duck with some sort of Thai curry something or another, which was absolutely the best we have ever had! The Friday night BBQ's are fun and delicious, The rack of lamb on Easter was superb, the risotto with spring asparagus and Parma ham was amazing, and the wines and bubbly are all well-picked and free-flowing. Add some nightly, low-key, quality entertainment and you are in a different world. Thanks always to our friends who work so hard to achieve perfection - Sebastian, Christine, Hanna, Ellie, Mousey, Windel, Titus, et al. The Canadian owners, George and Marilyn, along with the British GM, Gareth are extremely detail oriented which shows all around the resort and enhances the great experience of the East Winds. Great Job all! Can't wait to see you and toast again next year with a night cap in the Austin Powers Lounge!
