A group of 8 people from my family had the opportunity to go on a day sail while we were staying in Cane Garden Bay. It rained all morning and by the time we got to Road Town in our open-air Safari taxi, (driven by the wonderful Capt. Friendly,) it was pouring! We were the first group to board the schooner that morning.
Capt. Chris had been looking at the radar and decided that instead of the Baths, we would go to Norman Island and the Indians and avoid the bad weather. He was 100% right - as we sailed away it got lighter and lighter and soon it was sunny and beautiful.
Capt. Chris, Pierce, and Kate were awesome - they know all about the area and made sure we were comfortable and well hydrated! The lunch was superb!
We loved snorkeling! Since we had such a large number and because my daughter was scared to death, we missed going out with Kate, but we explored on our own and saw lots of beautiful fish! The second stop to snorkel was rather rough water with a current, at the Indians, but I surprised myself by making it all the way out there and back. Luckily I missed seeing the barracuda my son saw. Yikes!
We also enjoyed the stop at Pirate's Bight. The drinks there were delicious! My daughter, who was too scared to even look through her mask into the water, showed some kids on a school trip how to use the mask and snorkel.
It was a wonderful day in Paradise!
