We stayed in Pavilions and Pools this last trip. Pavilions and Pools was great for us. They are under new management. And this new guy knows what he's doing. BUT, it depends on which room. It can be fabulous...each place is individually owned, but put into a rental pool, so can vary in decor. The first villa we had, didn't suit us.
There are two layouts; I prefer the smaller where you enter into the garden/pool area. The larger enter into the villa; the pool is at the back. Each villa has its own pool and complete privacy, so you can go au naturelle. The room is cleaned everyother day.
For the most part, Pavilions and Pools is a couples place. We ran into NO other children except ours. Yet the set up is perfect for a family vacation. With full kitchenettes, this was an easier way to eat than run out to restaurants each evening -- which gets extremely expensive. Figure you should double what you'd pay in NorthEast US. We did grocery shopping for sandwiches, salads and our kids' staple: mac and cheese. Surprisingly, even fruit is expensive.
Also bought a case of beer the first day, and mixers, since the room came with a bottle of rum. We still managed to spend $1000 on food and drinks (including restaurants). We held a barbecue for 11 adults in our villa, and had a blast!! Hey, if you can't find a party, make your own.
The manager's wife babysat for us on our romantic evenings out. As for beach, this place is at the top of a hill. Sapphire Beach is a long walk down. But with a private pool, who cares?
