We'd never been there so weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, the room was great, and our 2 day stay was great!

Our first visit to Ensenada.... The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful to a point.
My biggest complaint is that the bed was like a rock! Very difficult to sleep in it. And there are no coffee makers in the room. Would have really liked to have that amenity. Otherwise, we stayed on the pool side and it was quiet and easy to relax. We would go there again if the beds were a bit softer.

This was my tenth visit to Ensenada in the last three years and my fourth stay at the El Cid Hotel. I wish I had found the hotel sooner. The rooms are very reasonable priced and I usually book a room for at least a four night visit. The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff is very helpful if you need something. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful and all speak good english. I recently had a flat tire on a Sunday afternoon and the staff directed me to a shop to get it fixed. In less than an hour it was fixed and I was on my way to the beach. I always get a street balcony room which is nosier than a pool side room. But I enjoy watching the crowds and hearing the singers serenading the sidewalk cafe crowds. Plus I enjoy the view of the habour and ocean. The restaurant is reasonable priced and the food is good. The rooms have refrigerators to keep soft drinks or whatever. There are no elevators, but with 65% of Americans overweight I feel that is a good thing. I'm looking forward to my return visit in September 2006. On a scale on 1 - 10, I rate the El Cid an 8. I live in Las Vegas and look forward to becoming a tourist myself at least 3 times a year.
