“A Superb Baja experience!”

Casa Tuscany Inn

5 of 5 stars
Lummi Island, WA
May 23, 2008

We spent a delightful few days at Casa Tuscany recently in celebration of our 35th anniversary. We cannot say enough about our fine experience there. Our hosts, Patricia and Ken, were very amiable and ever helpful in multiple arenas including guiding us around town, assisting us in getting in touch with our son back home, engaging us in warm conversations, and making us feel so at home in their warm casa bonita, The room was quite nice, very clean, had lots of amenities, and offered us great city and ocean views from the balcony above. The delicious breakfasts were a great way to start our Baja experience each day. We highly recommend Casa Tuscany and these great hosts to anyone seeking a fun, low-keyed Baja getaway!

We had seven absolutely marvelous days and nights at The Casa Tuscany Inn in Feb. Our room , more than adequate and always cleaned, had a balcony with a view of the Bay, just a block away and amazing sun sets. Our hosts Ken and Pat could not have been nicer or done more for us. They provided delicious breakfasts served in a lush courtyard. They helped us plan trips to see whales, swim with sealions, and find local weavers and potters. Our experience in LaPaz was so wonderful in large part because of their care and assistance. When we return to LaPaz, and we will return, we will stay at the Casa Tuscany Inn, not only because of fine accomodations but to see our new friends, Ken and Pat. WI Traveler

Casa Tuscany is a delightful bed and breakfast in La Paz! Hosts Pat and Ken were welcoming, helpful and made delicious breakfasts! The room we stayed in was great with a TV, fridge, microwave, hot plate and dishes etc. It was both quiet and clean. The rooms are situated around a central garden courtyard where we sat and watched the hummingbirds feed. Highly recommended if your travel plans include La Paz!!!!

“Wonderful Place to Stay”

Hello, My husband and I just returned from a week’s stay at Casa Tuscany Inn, La Paz, Baja Mexico. We had a terrific stay. The B&B is located a block from the Malecon therefore, walking distance to the highlights of La Paz. The rooms and courtyard in the B&B were very quiet and you felt very much away from the city---peacefulness, birds, hummingbirds, plants, flowers, trees. The courtyard outside is where we had the most amazing breakfasts cooked by the hosts, Patricia and Ken. Every day was a delicious, diverse breakfast--- and we were certainly filled up for the start of the day. We stayed in the room with a little kitchenette which worked well for our needs and was most spacious with lovely art and décor. The atmosphere at this B&B was warm, welcoming and friendly. The hosts were able to put us in touch with a local tour company that picked us up at the door of the B&B. All and all it was a great stay and I would highly recommend this B&B. “I'm coming back!”

My husband and I decided we wanted to visit La Paz as I was specifically looking for a vacation that was NOT Cabo San Lucas. Cabo is very lively and you'll definitely get your "party on" vacation there however if you are looking for something relaxed, laid back and tranquil, well La Paz is the place for you. I read through many different reviews for the various hotels, B&B's and found that Casa Tuscany Inn sounded like our kind of place. Pat and Ken couldn't have been more helpful, gracious and charming in all our interactions with them. We stayed from March 20 through the 27 and actually upgraded our room from one of their smaller ones to their largest Romeo and Juliet. Both rooms would've worked for us however we were on vacation so it was about "living la vida". I was actually a bit surprised with a review I read about the inn furniture not being comfortable etc. We've been all over Mexico and have been fortunate to stay in 5+ star resorts and a good variety of B&B's. I found Tuscany to be lovely in all aspects especially in the "old world charm" and to be perfectly frank, for the daily rate, it was perfect. Yes, the bed could've been bigger, we could've had HBO available, rabbit ears and all but again to each their own.

Breakfast was served at 8:30am and we both looked forward to something delicious every morning and both Pat and Ken did not disappoint. :) We went on a boat tour of Isla Espirto Santo which was wonderful and the beach area is not to be missed. There are several MUST see beaches which are located in the Northern side so unless you're driving, you can certainly catch a taxi ride or a bus ride for 1/2 the amount. All the beaches we visited were beautiful but Balandra was by far our favorite. Pat and Ken can certainly point you to the best places to eat (or drink!) and we have to say that each of their suggestions did not disappoint. The best meal by far was at the restaurant Tres Virgenes which we saved for our last night in La Paz. I realize this review is a bit long and there is so much more I'd like to share so please feel free to send me an email if you need additional details on the various places we did visit and restaurants not mentioned. Again, for those of you looking for "girls gone wild", stay away from La Paz but in me and my husband, we've found a place we'll be visiting several times over.

Btw - La Fuente has the best ice cream....
