“Perfect Vacation!!!”

Las Cabanas de Loreto

May 6, 2008

My husband and I went with 8 of our best friends. It was one of the greatest trips yet! Perfect for a small group, beautiful setting, wonderful combination of modern amenities and layed back small town Mexico. We grilled the fish we caught, ate wonderful fruit from the man with the fruit cart, rode the bikes to the market, visited the great ice cream store, bought cool things to bring home, and layed around the pool! The weather was perfect! Jill, Rick, Linda, and Les were great hosts and hostesses! Be sure to snorkel at Coronado and go to the beach there for the afternoon. Also the dolphin cruise with Baha Outpost was worth the trip itself. Jill and Rick recommended great places to eat and visit.

“Best place to stay in Loreto”

Las Cabanas de Loreto

Mar 9, 2008

This is a great place to stay in Loreto. The cabanas are comfortable and have coffee, hair dryer, tea, plates, silverware etc. filtered water etc.. some of the things we had to buy when we stayed in Cabo. They also have beach umbrellas, snorkle gear, beach mats, lots of videos for those cool evenings. The owners help with everything. It's literally like staying with family. Closed gate and very private. You can stay by yourself or mingle with guests. We cooked one afternoon in the great outdoor kitchen, a nice spot for visiting. You can walk everywhere and there's a little store behind the cabanas. Loreto has the best food ever! We saw lots of whales which is why we came. Next time will try later with warmer water and weather. I recommend you stay here, I looked at other places I considered but this one is the best..

“Loved, Loved, Loved Las Cabanas de Loreto”

Las Cabanas de Loreto

Feb 24, 2008

Las Cabanas is like being at home with your family, with none of the work. The hosts share their games, bikes, scuba gear, and other toys making it easy to enjoy all the outdoor activities in Loreto. The hotel has a pool with comfortable lounges for sunning and reading, as well as a great hot tub to enjoy after a day of whale-watching or hiking. It's off the busy street, a quiet oasis, but within a few minutes of the town and all the great restaurants. With seven of us in our group, teachers with limited money and resources, our yearly trips to Mexico (this is our seventh) are our one escape from kids, husbands and work. With our limited budget, we often cooked in the kitchen provided (one in every room), or ate out in the outdoor kitchen with tables, chairs, twinkle lights and a BBQ. We were definitely lucky to find this welcoming site.

“The BEST Hostesses ever!”

I stayed with Rick and Jill at Las Cabanas for a week (though some of the time I was in the mountains on mule-back!). There are no two people better suited to run a wonderful place. Not only is Las Cabanas beautifully decorated with lovely desert landscaping around the pool, the lovely tile work through out the rooms and a heavenly peaceful pool....... but the atmosphere is someplace you read about in magazines. It is just lovely.
Rick and Jill take their clients on visits around the town, often joining them for dinners, tours, etc. They will arrange almost anything you can think of and they are just a wealth of knowledge.
Great, great, great place!!

This was by far the most pleasant place I have stayed in Baja! This was my first trip to Loreto, and I really enjoyed it. I selected Las Cabanas de Loreto from reviews and photos, and although the online photos are nice, they really don't do justice to the property. The pool is beautiful, there are lots of comfortable chairs and tables on the patio, and it was very relaxing. I also enjoyed my cabana and how it was organized and decorated and all the tile work. The owners also made my stay very comfortable and hassle free. They told me about a local guide with a boat and which islands to go to, which all worked out great. They gave me suggestions for restaurants, which were all very good. They didn't intrude or hover over me, but they were always cheerful and willing to help. I'm planning on staying here this summer and maybe get some fishing in.
