stayed here in feb 07 the lobby is huge and has lots of hallways and doorways to it (because there are two towers a lower level. a pool level.stores. time share offices. restaurants and more)if you don't know your way your gonna get confused. but there is always a huge over barring amount of guards in lobby and patrolling the towers so if you need help you don't got to look far.a great view of the ocean. a open air lobby also over looking the 3 pools there is always lots of people in the lobby just sitting relaxing talking for hours till the early hours of the morning you go to sleep and wake up sometimes there still there and there all ages too from teens to older gentlemen and woman this place has a electric vibe to it its like a beehive always something going on but it wont disturb you in your room if you want quiet! all rooms have a balcony and a ocean view a kitchenette with basic amenities like dishes fridge etc and what a view wow the sun sets are amazing there are 3 restaurants here as well as lots of options to eat drink and shop within walking distance. the beach is rite across the street as two malls are only a7 min drive from here the pools don't get two crazy or over run so you can still relax if you want too.they do make you where a plastic band on your wrist so you can go in and out of the hotel property(so to the locals you stick out like a tourist and they hound you to buy something or ask for change ) and they do check for you wristbands every time you come and go from the hotel and it gets annoying till they remember you and they will chase you down like a criminal i went through it i think they have better security then a bank don't dear try to bring a guest back THEY WONT LET YOU NO EXCEPTIONS guess thats why there are so many guards and they dress like a swat team with batons maze handcuffs boots walkie talkies just to guard the front door gotta see it to believe it weekends its worse and there all young 18 to 20 yr olds doing this i got fed up it was over barring and annoying so i moved hotels after 3 days and they had guards to but much older more mature and understanding and only 1 or 2 at a time on duty with no wrist bands and understanding if you wanna go change your beach clothes and have your friend change his for a night out regardless if hes from Mexico or not. the place is nice in a nice location but i like to come and go as i please with out always being stared at and questioned because im young i come on vacation to relax not to feel uncomfortable or uptight its just a little over done im 35 and professional and respectable and when im paying my hard earned money to stay somewhere i want to be treated professional and respectable regardless of my age or looks i dont want to be questioned all the time and treated like i thug or a punk
I stayed at Las Torres Gemelas with 3 friends. When we first arrived the lobby looks beatiful the view just beautiful. Once they gave us our room key we get on the OLD elevator to our room. Our room is dirty there is trash all over the floor the beds were unmade and the AC does not work. We call the front desk and they said they would send someone to clean up. After ten minutes we call again they apologize and say come down to the front desk and we will give you a new room. We did and got a new room. Once we get to the room this room is "clean". But their rooms are just old and unkept. The stove and regrigerator don't work but at least the AC works. We figured we'd stay here since we'd only be in the room to sleep. We go out to their private beach and surpise surprise the beach is tiny you can't even sit down on the sand because the waves are so big. On two out of the three days I was there the beach was closed. They had told us the hotel has a jacuzzi but when we tried to get in the guard said that only certain guests can go in. The only nice thing about this place is the view and the hotel lobby area. Other than that I would not recommened this hotel to anyone!
I loved this place. I've travelled a lot and finally have found a place where there is a kitchen in the suites (so I don't have to gain weight on vacation! hahaha!).
This hotel is right in middle of Acapulco Bay...right in the action. the beach is also partiioned off by huge boulders on each side so there is not a lot of people strolling by which I like.
The staff was friendly and helpful too.
I'll go back to this hotel.
I'm from Mexico City and I often travel to Acapulco for the weekend. I haven't stayed in Torres Gemelas for about 10 years, but I remembered it was a nice place. WRONG !
We arrived and there was no Valet Parking (for me is a very important thing, not much for foreign tourists). The people at the front desk answer was "We can't do anything about it, sorry". Anyway, we went up to our room and there was no hot water ! No other rooms were we could move, so we had to stick with this room.
The pool is always so very crowded, and very noisy as well. There's always a loud music that won't let you rest. And the beach is the worst part. THERE IS NO BEACH.
Just a little spot between the rocks were you can not swim, and also, in this beach you miss all the fun that's going on in the same beach, just 3 minutes away.
Very old elevators, rooms, etc
So my recommendation is, spend a few bucks more and stay at a hotel that has a decent beach.
Although location is very good, I woundn't recommend it for the world.
