We stayed in Avalon Excaliber, Acapulco for 3 days. It wasn't a pleasant stay. From the time of checking-in till we left we had some problem or the other.
The rooms didn't have remote for the TV. The customer service was very poor. After making 4 calls to reception we finally got a hair dryer. There was no iron box and board in the room.
The beach near the hotel is polluted with sewage water and has rough sand. The beach in front of the hotel is full of hawkers and middlemen selling all kinds of things. They keep pestering us all the time when we were at the beach.
This is the case with almost all beaches in Acapulco. Good beaches to swim include Playa Puerto Marquez and Roqueta Island. Caleta and Caletilla are good too but are always overcrowded.
Para-sailing was good in this area. Its better not to stay here if you are so particular about cleanliness.
Getting things done at the reception took a minimum of 10 minutes each time. Breakfast was very average.
