If you want to be trapped on an island all day with nothing to do then go the ixtapa isle! my friends and I went to snorkel which was about a joke you can't see a thing! The so called restaurants are pretty bad! I would never go back again!! Don't waste your money!
Instead rent a moped and go to playa la linda beach! you can come and go as you please!

Please don't waste your time and $$$ on this excursion. It's not like it was terrible, but the beaches and pools at all the hotel's in the area were far better. The comp. fish lunch was great though. They served a tunafish fillet with garlic/butter. It was outstanding. Go on the Sunset Cruise on the 85ft. sailboat instead. That was fantastic.

the family visited Ixtapa Island in 2000 it was okbut the water was a little dirty and the minute yousat down to enjoy the sun they would try to sell youjewelry or drinks. The people were nice butdid not care for the restaurant food. environmentwas dirty. Maybe in a few years this island willbuild up but for now till then try another place

We tied in the Ixtapa Island trip at the end of a fishing trip. The captain was supposed to catch a fish and cook it on the beach for us.
What actually happens is that there is a restaurant of sorts on the beach where they will cook your fish. We didn't catch any, but they did have fish to cook for you. The fish was good but a bit pricey. At the end of our stay at the restaurant/beach, the waiter had the nerve enough to ask for a bigger tip than he got.The beach itself was crowded and kind of a tourist trap. The snorkeling beach was the same. The water was cloudy because of all the people, but if you were a good swimmer, and swam out a hundred yards or so, there were plenty of fish and a good variety.Fortunately our ride was there after a couple of hours so the disappointment was kept to a minimum. If we had been stuck there all day, it would have been a bummer. Skip the Ixtapa Island trip and go to a nice beach restaurant on the mainland.
