The 2 BR, 2 Bath suite we occupied was among the top 3 or 4 of the more than 20 hotel rooms we have booked in Mexico over the last 15 years. Unfortunately the Park Royal Hotels are all inclusive and neither the food nor the amenities were up to the level of the Barcelo or other nearby resorts. Breakfast was average, the Ceviche lunch menu was very good. The Italian restaurant (same day reservation only) had a limited menu but was quite good. The normal steam table dinner was sadly lacking. There were virtually no amenities, no visible program, and nothing but meals, drinks, and tips in the manditory "All Inclusive" package. The hotel service was efficient, courteous, and prompt. The staff were both pleasant and helpful and there was a minimal time share hassle.

We belong to Royal Holiday Club, 1st time using membership, very happy with room, overlooking the ocean was Wonderful. Room very clean, staff friendly, food-good. Thanks for the memories, hope to see you again in the future. Debbie, from Indiana

Just returned from the Villas. This was our second visit and we love the location. They will be closed very shortly and refurbished. Which they need desperately. The new ones will have an elevator which will be helpful. The staff was quite friendly and could speak English. We used the e-mail room most every day.
Our maid came each morning and we had turn down service at night with a candy on our pillow. The air conditioning worked great and the fans were nice too. We ate some breakfasts and lunches in and all our dinners out. It was great having the fridge and the microwave.

We just returned from a week stay at the Barcelo/Royal Villas resort with our 4 children aged 14 to 22. We were celebrating 2 of their graduations. I had stayed at the Barcelo (Sheraton) in 1984 and was surprised by the growth of both Zihuat and Ixtapa but it still had the same feeling. My husband and I had an Ocean front room in the Barcelo and the kids stayed in one of the Villas. We did the all inclusive plan and felt it was well worth it both for the convenience and the price. (3 kids were of drinking age). The service was excellent and the facilities were above average and the food was great. All of our kids can't wait to go back. The older 3 danced the night away at Senior Frogs just 2 blocks from the hotel. The bell captain watched for their early morning arrivals even walking them home one night. Cabs were highly available and the trip to Zihuat. was only $5 including tip. All the locals were very informative and spoke very good english. The best for me was a half mile down the beach, just past Carlos and Charlies, the first massage tent closest to the water was Isabelle and her girls where I got a 1 hour massage on the beach every morning for $15 us. Highly recomend it for both honeymooners and families alike. The beaches and the views are breathtaking.
