I stayed at the IC Presidente with my wife and two children in late March. We had found quite a good price through funjet vacations, and thought we'd give the Pacific Coast of Mexico a try, having been to the Mayan Riviera previously, as well as to Cuba many times. The resort was as described in several previous reviews. It certainly is an older resort, and would benefit from a face lift, but our room (in the tower) was spotlessly clean, with everything in working order. We were in the top floor, which provided the best ocean view of any hotel I have stayed at. The pool was large, and kept very clean, and we never had a problem finding a lounger around it. The beaches in the area are certainly not as pretty or peaceful as found on the Caribbean Coast, with much larger waves, and darker coarser sand. That said, my 8 year old son had a blast playing in the waves. I found the food really quite good, and we certainly had no trouble getting tables at the a la carte restaurants. No reservations were required, and we were always seated immediately. The Mexican Fiesta night was alot of fun, with quite good Mexican food, and vendors set up who were selling among the best jewellery and souvenirs in the area. We very much enjoyed the Ixtapa/ Zihuatenejo area. I would certainly return to this hotel, especially if I could find a similar price.
