“Best Deal in Mazatlan.”

Candace and Jim Penn really have something here! This brand new (2008) house, cliffside in the old town section of Mazatlan, had ALL of the amenities one could look for in a vacation rental. Everything from comfortable, spacious bedrooms, a HUGE, well equipped kitchen, and living room/dining space for many more than ten people. Outstanding connectivity with satalite tv (all US channels), vonage phone service with free calling to US and Canada. Candace and Jim are lovely people, very helpful and knowledgeable. The neighhborhood CAN'T BE BEAT! Close to everything, but away from the cruise ship crowds and tourist traps. I know for a fact that it is one of the best deals in Mazatlan because I live two hours north of here and come here for work about once a month. I have stayed in over twenty of the most popular hotels here, including El Cid, Hotel Playa Mazatlan, Hotel D'Gala, and Best Western Posada Freeman. None have come close to the experience I had when my brothers and sisters visited and we rented this casa. Highly recommended with the utmost confidence.

“Loved the Mazatlan Ocean Front Inn”

Mazatlan Ocean Front Inn

Apr 11, 2008

My husband and I had a wonderful, restful stay at the Mazatlan Ocean Front Inn. The house is exotic and beautiful - with unbelievable views of the ocean. The owners, Jim and Candace, were such great hosts. They knew all about Mazatlan and helped us plan our time while we were there. Jim took my husband fishing and then allowed us to use their BBQ to cook the fish he caught. Candace told us about many exciting things to do- even karoke in the old town. Did I mention the sunsets- we saw one every night we were there. We will surely return.

“Fantastic experience!”

Mazatlan Ocean Front Inn

This was probably the best experience I've ever had in Mexico! The owners, Jim and Candace, were extremely helpful and are great overall. I felt like I was visiting old friends. The inn is beautifully done and the view is spectacular. If you are looking for a resort place with a big party nightlife, go elsewhere. However, if you are interested in Mazatlan, the ocean, the Machado, or the other parts of the real Mazatlan, I highly recommend this place. It truly is a treasure!

“We've outgrown the Golden Zone”

Mazatlan Ocean Front Inn

Apr 1, 2008

After staying at Candace and Jim's gorgeous, spacious home, we found that we've graduated from the cramped, cookie-cutter vacation lifestyle that the beach hotel zone represents.

While the Golden Zone is an easy 10-minute bicycle ride away (on one of the Inn's free bikes), who needs it; we much prefer the quieter haunts of nearby Playas Norte, Los Pinos and Olas Altas. When we had enough of the beach, Candace and Jim's home was a short walk away, offering a respite from the sun in a designer-decorated room, or a cold Pacifico on the veranda while watching a breathtaking sunset.

Candace and Jim were consummately helpful, offering directions and suggestions about all of the usual visitors' needs: Where to tour; where to eat (without getting sick!); where to shop; where to find entertainment; how to get there.

We're recommending Candace and Jim's home to our friends and relatives, and we'll be back!

We had the most wonderful time. Jim and Candace were absolutely fabulous hosts. We enjoyed the place so much we literally had to drag ourselves away to see Mazatlan.
