“Great stay at the Pueblo Bonito”

Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan

4 of 5 stars
San Francisco, California
Jun 21, 2008

We travelled with a group of people including kids, parents, grandparents, and a younger couple - and this place managed to make EVERYONE happy!

The rooms were nice - ours was a suite which included a living room area, small kitchenette with mini fridge, and 2 part bathroom and a bedroom. It was air conditioned, clean, and very comfortable and met our needs perfectly.

There were 2 pools - one that was smaller and quieter and another that was larger, had a swim up bar and had more noise and activities going on. You could also sit down on the beach under their palapas if you prefered an ocean view.

The staff there was amazing - so friendly, so nice, so fun.

Amenities included a small gym, store, internet, dining services, kids activities, good food, beach towels, and more.

The only downside was that we were pretty far from old town and the rest of the golden mile (but you can easily get a $5 cab ride there for 10 people).

“Nice resort, friendly staff”

Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan

Pueblo Bonito is a very nice resort. They have all kinds of planned activities throughout the day that you can take part in for no extra charge. We stayed in the Jr. Suite and it was very roomy. We had a sm kitchen that was fully equipped so we cooked several meals there. The beach was the nicest around, with the exception of all the vendors who continually bugged us to buy something from them. This was the one thing that bothered us about the resort. We felt since it was a "private resort beach" the hotel security (which was excellent) should have kept the vendors off the beach of the resort. We could not even relax on the beach because of the constant harrassment from the overly-pushy vendors! One word of caution, Spring and Summer is the jelly fish season and there were tons of jelly fish on the beach. I got stung by one while in the ocean & so did several other people during our stay. Very painful! If you get stung vinegar or amonia will help take the pain away. We ended up keeping a bottle in our beach bag and shared it with others.

“Third Stay at PB Mazatlan and Will Be Back for #4”

Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan

There are two Pueblo Bonito resorts in Mazatlan: PB Mazatlan and PB Emerald Bay. We stayed at the one in Mazatlan. The one at Emerald Bay is much more modern and impressive, but it is a 15-20 minute ride to/from town. If you want to stay at the resort during your whole stay (and eat all your meals there), Emerald Bay would be a good choice. However, if you want to go downtown often for shopping, sight-seeing, or restaurants (outside the resort), then PB Mazatlan is more appropriate. This was our third stay there and we have absolutely no complaints about the accommodations or service. PB Mazatlan is about 30 years old and is showing its age; however, it is clean, well maintained, and has more of the culture of Mexico (beautiful tile work, adobe walls, low-lying). Our favorite restaurant (La Costa Marinara) is right on the beach, only a 2-3 block walk from the resort. There is a lot more to say, but if you have specific questions, send me an e-mail.

“Great Stay”

Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan

We were very impressed with our stay at PB Maz. The resort is impeccably clean and maintained for an older resort. The pool area was scrubbed daily and the beaches were groomed. Our JR suite was very well maintained, though I did notice a damp smell, youre next to the ocean so thats to be expected. The linens and room alway had a fresh, clean smell. On the north end of the Golden Zone, it is a bus, taxi, or pulmonia ride into the more interesting parts of town. Round trip cost anywhere from $8 to $20 for a family of 4. We found the farther we were from PB, the better the food and activity. Happy hour at the pool was great. They had the best(and strongest) Marguiritas in town. We visited the PB Emerald Bay which was palatial and beautiful. But it was way to big for our taste and way too far from town. The beach was not as nice either. We would definatly recommend the PB Maz.

“Fantastic Stay”

This is without a doubt one of the very best resorts I have ever stayed at. Beautiful setting, Very nice and clean facility. SERVICE was best I have ever experienced! Can't do enough for you. Always cheerful. If you ignore the condo sales solicitors then everything is perfect. Food good not great. Very nice and comfortable room and bed. Would go back for sure and highly recommend it to my friends. Quiet but not far from town. Recommend Angelo's restaurant. Good food and great wine and cocktails. Palapas are regulated so all can enjoy them not just plunk down a towel and never show up to use palapa. They gave a discount on the room from $162 to $150/nite, cheaper than Playa Mazatlan which sucked. Fully equipped kitchens.
Loved my stay there.
