“Underwhelming!”

Hotel Latino

2 of 5 stars
Saratoga Springs NY

Needed a place to stay on the way from Cancun airport to Xcalak, so did not opt for the beach scene because wanted early start. This place has the best looking website! On arrival (after dark), stunned to find it just a slice of 2 story motel. Right opposite the desk (maybe 10 feet) was a guest room. Lights on, drapes half open, two women in twin beds sleeping, mouths open. It looked the a nursing home room! We had been gaily promised in numerous emails that we would have a room with a king or queen bed but got a double. Fine, we were beat. Overlooked the pool. (please see photo). Overall, the room was comfortable though small, but not overly clean. Right next to our room was a small patio with a hammock, so early in a.m. got in some hammock time and at that point our 3 weeks in Yucatan began. To sum up, don't believe the website, but ok for a place to crash. Not a good value though.

i'm a frequent traveler for business or pleasure to cancun and down to tulum . i've had wonderful stays everywhere with and without amenities. i have found all business owners of varying nationalities to be honest, sincere and take pride in the services they provide. however for the first time i was scammed by the owners of hotel latino, casa latina and aire bello. the beach houses, aire bello and casa latina are NOT on the beach (even though they "implied" they were after several emails i sent). they are across the boca paila road and appeared dirty and questionable. outside hotel latino we were approached by the owner's "cousin" with an obvious time share scam. we trustingly sent a deposit however they refuse to answer our emails to refund our money. these business owners represent a seedy element rarely seen in this area but i'd like to warn others to use caution when booking at casa latina/aire bello or hotel latino.

“best hotel in Tulum!”

While in Tulum, I stayed at a few places, I looked at quite a few. By far Hotel Latino was the best place to be! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, and stylish. This place is 5min from the beach, you may think that is too far. Any place on the beach does NOT have electrical power. They have generators that roar all night, and most turn your power off at 11pm. I probably don't have the spelling right, but the owner Alvero, is extremely accomadating, and he will help you set up any adventure you wish to go on. As a matter of fact he came with us on one of them. He rented us an airplane to fly us over the beach from Playa del Carmen to tulum and back. Amazing trip, amazing adventure, amazing hotel!!

I WILL RETURN!!

“Not Clean, room too dark, not worth $60”

When we first arrived at night after a 14 hour taxi, plane, taxi, place bus tour we were happy to find a place in Tulum pueblo. At night we then realized that our room hasn't been cleaned for quite some time. Especially the cupboards were very dirty. Also we had a room on the botton, which was dark, and no way of open a window, other then to run the aircondition.

Hard to understand, because overall the place looks nice from a design perspective. Too bad that they don't take care off it.

Price of $60 is definitly too expensive, looking at the other options which are out there in Tulum Pueblo.

it looks nicer than the real thing. It's a new concept with minimalistic ideas and decoration but the service is not quite what we expected.

It's hidden but inside the town!!! not like ina romantic place or anyhting. absolutely no view at all or gardened areas.

if you want to stay inside a room in a magestic place like Tulum then go here. If not, get another hotel.
