We stayed at Hotel Emporio for five days and the service there was EXCELLENT! The staff is so accommodating and will basically do anything you ask of them. The rooms are big and kept really clean, we had a balcony/patio in our room with a view of the beautiful Cathedral. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!

Hotel was great, unmatchable location!

I've stayed in this property years ago, and we didn't like it because of the outside noise. This time we asked for a room with a view of the interior patio, and we didn't have any problem.

My wife and I reserved a room through expedia, and asked for a king size bed, which they didn't have, we complained and asked for a king size bed and they gave us a free upgrade to a junior suite with a king size bed. Great mexican breakfast buffet. Zacatecas is a very nice city worth visiting, although you need to speak some Spanish, since not many people speak English.

We wanted to escape the Houston weather and went off to
Zacatecas. What a city! I thought I had stepped into
Granada, Spain. The weather never got over 78, and
at night it was a welcomed 58. The Emporio was lovely,
right in front of the Cathedral, you could walk everywhere
of interest. The staff was accomodating and friendly.
The rooms were above average, though the a/c did not
work properly. We had to leave windows opened at night
and it was noicy. The bathroom was average size and
spotless. The restaurant was busy, busy, food was excellent.
We thought of retiring there BUT the altitude can kill you,
it is higher than Mexico City and Denver!

What a wonderful location - walk out the door and you're in the center of the old town across the street from the very beautifully carved facade of the cathedral. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, attentive, and willing to please and the entire place is clean as a whistle. Good sized rooms not lavish and over done, but wonderfully simple and all rooms either look out onto the very lovely attrium with a most beautiful working fountain or look out onto the street. Our room looked out onto the attrium and what could be better than swinging open the windows and listening to that wonderful fountain. Actually made us feel like we were in a very lovely hacienda. I'd skip the dining room for meals
