“Had a Great Stay”

Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre

3 of 5 stars
Abbotsford
Mar 20, 2008

My daughter and I just recently stayed at the hotel. March 18th to 19th. I booked the executive suite for an extra $40 and it was nice. The fluffy down comforter and pillows were so wonderful to sleep on! And there was a pillow order form for those that had a preference for pillow firmness.
The decor was of course a bit dated because the hotel is older but it was very clean. We had a problem with the coffee maker and I couldn't turn the shower on but within 10 minutes of phoning the front desk we had a tray of coffee sent up and a repair man to fix the shower. They aim to please.
We had a complimentary breakfast buffet with our room. We didn't get down there til 10:00 am and it wasn't very warm and there was just slim pic kin's so I'd advise getting there sooner.
I think I would just get a standard room next time and order breakfast from the restaurant or go out.
We were very close to Granville Island. Take the bus, It's so hard to find parking! I would definitely stay here again

“Nice view of the city”

Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre

3 of 5 stars
Wollongong, Australia
Mar 16, 2008

I stayed at the hotel on a stopover so wasn't intending to do much sightseeing. It's on the opposite side of the water from the main city centre and affords greats views. The rooms are decidedly shabby and the whole place is in need of an upgrade. The price is okay for what you get, but it isn't in a good location for tourist travel. There is a nice walk down to the water and along a path to Granville Island - but be prepared for the steep walk back. There is a direct bus to UBC if you are on university business.

“Could be better, Could be worse.”

Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre

3 of 5 stars
Calgary, Canada
Mar 8, 2008

We stayed at the Hotel inn Vancouver Centre for two nights in February for a Scrabble Tournament. It is a good hotel for the price. If you just want somewhere to lay your head at night and get a shower then its fine. The decor is a little out dated, but it was clean over all. The staff are nice and helpful. There is a taxi stand right outside the hotel and there is always atleast one waiting. We didnt eat at the hotel resturant, we went to an italian place about a block east of the hotel on Broadway called Favouritos based on a recommendation from the front desk (It was amazing! pretty resonable prices as well) and we ate breakfast at the Denny's about 6 blocks to the west of the hotel on Broadway.

There are computers in the lobby area where you pay 3 dollars for 15 minutes of access and you can make an account to save any unused time for use up to 60 days later. The pool was clean, and pretty nice for the hotel. The weight room was good as well. There is no Casino in the basement, there hasnt been for about 4 months. Overall it was a pleasant stay. The Hotel is in sort of a noisy area, alot of traffic goes by, the street crossing signs beep, and a few ambulances go by every once and a while. But it just sort of blends into the backround. There are a few homeless people around, but they just ask you for change, nothing else. They dont want anything to do with you really. So, yeah it was good stay, ok hotel for the price.

“Decent hotel at a great price”

Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and overall we enjoyed ourselves. The check-in was fast and polite and we got a complimentry upgrade to an excecutive suite with a king sized bed and balcony. The room was very comfortable and the bed awesome. I have never slept in something so soft and comfortable. The bathroom was okay, we found the water pressure to be very average but the shower did have a mult-function shower head.

The room service was fast, efficient and the quality of the food was excellent. It was reasonably priced as well. We had breakfast via room service costing $30 for two people. The hotel has a resturant downstairs, next to the lobby but DON'T try it - we had a "hot" breakfast there on our first morning and it was cold and very unappealing. Reading some of the reviews on this website, it seems that other guests have had a similar experience. When I checked out, I mentioned to the staff about the poor resturant breakfast and they were very good about it, reimbursing me for it.

The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from downtown vancouver but i felt it was a safer place than the city. There is a London Drugstore a street away, as well as a starbucks and several enthic resturants nearby.

I would recommend this hotel for a short stay, especially for a business trip and sightseeing.

“No thrills, no frills and average Holiday Inn”

Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre

3 of 5 stars
Montreal, Quebec

Check-in and check-out extremely fast and courteous. My room on the 16th floor is average but do have a nice outside view. Building is old but clean. I didn't realize that there is a casino inside this hotel until the next day. Since casino guests use different entrance, you don't see or be bother by them at all. I did not have a chance to check out the casino as well as hotel restaurant.

This hotel is not right on the heart of downtown Vancouver. Bus to downtown stops right in front or you can walk (approx. 15 to 20 minutes). There is a Starbucks across the street. London Drugs store is close next to hotel. You can find myriad of restaurants surrounding this hotel (burger joint, pizza, sushi, indian foods etc...).

The area looks safe and clean, i would recommend this hotel to any tourist.
