We must thank the Broadway TIC for making a reservation for us at this nice hotel. We needed an accommodation not far from the Cotswold Way which we were walking in Oct. 2007, and this is just a couple of minutes away from the trail. And what a welcome sight it was after the 8-hour hike from Broadway!
The owners were extremely kind (they even let me use their computer to make a reservation for my onward travel), the room was superb, the breakfast was truly great. What more could we possibly ask?

“Good Views, pleasant stay”

Cleeve Hill Hotel

Oct 16, 2007

The hotel is situated at Cleeve Hill on the B4632. Access to the hotel is a bit on the steep side due to its location, however you do get good views of the surrounding countryside. There is a footpath up to the hill behind the hotel to view sunsets etc.

On arrival we were greeted by the friendly owners who were watering their pretty garden. They provided us with tea and cake. Our double room was spacious, well equipped and with a good front view.

We stayed for 2 nights in June 2007 at a cost of £80 per night – the room may have been a superior room given its space and outlook.

“Incredible, quintessential England”

It's been a few months since our stay at Cleeve Hill, but I realized I never posted a review and considering the caliber of accommodations they provided us, I am amiss in not doing so up to this point.

From the top:
The proprietors (Janet, Trevor, Jo, and David) are some of the friendliest, warmest people we met on our trip. The room was beautiful and had a stunning view over the neighboring hills. Breakfast was some of the best we had during our 2-week tour of the English countryside. The location couldn't have been better... several miles in one direction was the slightly larger town of Cheltenham, where we could get nearly any kind of food we wanted, and several miles in the other direction was a small community that had INCREDIBLE fish and chips (recommended by Janet--ask her for directions, she'll know exactly what I'm talking about).
My wife and I wanted to do a horseback tour and Jo went out of her way to track down several options for us, one of which we participated in and absolutely loved.
If you're looking for a great base from which to do some leisurely exploring of the Cotswolds, I can't stress enough that this is the place to be.

“Comfortably relaxing & friendly”

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of March 07. On arrival we were greeted by extremely friendly people who took great care in ensuring we relaxed as quickly as possible. It's a fairly small hotel but very clean, tidy and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was so good we skipped lunch! Would willingly recommend this hotel to anybody, BUT, because of the fairly steep steps up to the house it may be difficuly for elderly/disabled.

This hotel was booked for me by my company's travel agent but what a find. I work away from home regularly and so am maybe looking for different things in a hotel than I would as a tourist but I would recommend this hotel on both counts. The staff are the friendliest I've known, my room was spacious and very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. I believe the views are also spectacular but it was dark and misty when I was there (December) so I can't comment. In all, a first rate stay and I'll be sure to request this hotel when I'm back in the area.
