I booked a group of 14 into this hotel through the Hilton website. We chose based on price and location. Those booked into twin rooms were offered upgrades on check in. We had agreat view of the new Wembley Stadium from our room on the 13th floor.

Location was exellent, just across from the tube station. Taxis from central London were also ok, we paid £15 to get back from Covent Garden.

The only negative was slow check in and check out. They had mixed up 2 room bookings on check in so this took half an hour to fix. On check out, they ask so many questions to check you enjoyed your stay, it takes forever!

I would definitely stay here again.

We just returned from a week in London. The Hilton Metropole is a great hotel and I highly recommend it. We booked online through Expedia and prepaid for a king size bed. When we arrived mid morning we were able to check in right away and the room was just as advertised. All of our expectations were met.

We didn't see any of the other rooms, so I can't comment on their condition, but ours was fine. I would say relatively large for a European hotel room, clean and modern. Besides the bed there was a writing desk, two chairs, minibar, small chest of drawers and closet. The bathroom was small, but did have a tub and shower, toilet and sink. We were very comfortable.

All of the staff we dealt with were extremely friendly. Checking in and out was a breeze. The concierge was helpful and the porters and doormen were all polite. The hotel property is very nice and modern.

The location is very convenient for travel around London. It is across the street from the Edgware Road underground stop that serves two major lines: the Circle and District. A block further is another stop that serves the Bakerloo line. Any of these three lines can easily get you to all the major attractions with few, if any, transfers. Additionally, there are very convenient bus lines that go right by the hotel. In the immediate neighborhood, there are three grocery stores within two blocks of the hotel, including two right across the street. Edgware road is a main street and we never felt threatened or unsafe walking around.

Definitely consider this hotel when looking for a place to stay. Considering how expensive London can be, I feel like we got our money's worth here.

Although this hotel was pricey, the location is excellent and I'd highly reccomend it. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. Concierge was super friendly and really made sure you got what you wanted. Even the bellhops tried to be helpful. When they concierge was busy and I was wating in line, a bellhop ran over to see if he could help. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet (or at least mine was). Located right across the street from a Marks and Spencer and near several good Lebanese restaurants. Walking distance to Oxford St and Tube stop right across from the hotel.

“Great Value”

Stayed at the Hilton Metropole for four nights in a family room. The room was extremely clean and our view of London from the room was spectacular. Breakfast was included in our room price and was out of this world. The only downside to this otherwise pleasant stay was checking in our first day. The housekeeping staff was behind in cleaning and it was well past the 3:00pm when we were able to get into our room.. We had to call down to housekeeping for soap and additional towels...one bar of soap and two towels for four people just wouldn't due. Overall it is a very nice hotel in central London with direct access to the tube and bus lines.

“Pleasantly surprised”

Hilton London Metropole

I won this hotel through Priceline with a bid of $83 US dollars per night for a three night stay. I then came to TripAdvisor to see what others had to say about the hotel. After reading all of the negative reviews, I was really expecting to be disappointed and treated poorly. Instead, we were allowed to check-in early when we arrived at the hotel at 11AM; there was no long wait to do so; we were offered a complimentary upgrade to an executive room; and, when we returned that same day after a long day of sightseeing, there were complimentary cookies and a bottle of water waiting for us. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I don't expect much from a hotel really. I don't need to be pampered because I have a certain plastic card in my wallet, I don't rely heavily on amenities and I rarely use room service. That being said, we did have an opportunity to use the steam room and did make a call to have an ice bucket provided. The steam room was fine and the ice bucket arrived within minutes. There was an ice dispenser on our floor.

We certainly appreciated the close proximity to the Tube stations (with plenty of lines to get you pretty much anywhere you need to go) and the Marks & Spencer across the street. My overall impression of the surrounding area was only okay. I personally did not feel comfortable walking around at night. I'm skittish that way anyway.

In my opinion, the only downside to this hotel is it's location on the outskirts of the primary sightseeing venues of the city. But, that is easily overcome by hopping on a Tube and getting to the action. As an aside, the view from our room wasn't great, but for the collective waking moments we spent in the room, that was a non-issue.
