Yes, it was like staying in the centre of the Bronx.
I hated it here.
I stayed for work reasons and didn't think that the location was particularly well suited to a Travelodge - to say the least!
The hotel was dark and dingy. I travel regularly for work but here I felt vulnerable. I visited the shop opposite and even that was scary.
I had trouble parking in the car park on one of my 3 nights there and drove under the hotel to the underground car park - but drove straight back out again! Nobody else had used it either which says something. The area is so intimidating. If I hadn't managed to park eventually into somewhere someone had just moved from on the 'upper deck', I think I'd have driven home!!!
If you feel vulnerable, if you haven't got your meal in your suitcase, if you don't have a padlock for your room - sleep in the car!!!
