“Great for a lively weekend”

Benedict's Hotel

I stayed here for a long weekend (Friday to Monday), when I went to see Take That in concert at the “Odyssey Arena”

The hotel is in a convenient location, close to all the night life and a short distance from the arena (5 mins in a cab).

The hotel was great. Clean, Comfortable, modern and staff provided a good service.

We decided to book the “Executive Room” (for an extra £10). Good move. The room was great. Our room was a bit bigger than the other rooms because we were at the end of the corridor, but friends had the room next door which was still a good size.

The bed was massive and comfortable. Brilliant plasma TV, and really comfortable armchair, that I could have slept in!!!

Bath room was clean, with a great shower and a wicked Jacuzzi bath.

The breakfast was included in the room tariff and was great, with a wide choice. The Irish breakfast was yummy.

The hotel has its own bar / club attached to it which was really nice and seemed to have a good atmosphere. The residence bar was open until 1, which was great especially to go to after the concert.

If you are staying in this hotel for a quiet weekend away then forget it, the noise of the club and the traffic / people / police cars will drive you mad. However if you are staying here as a base for going to a concert, or enjoying the night life then you will be OK, besides after a few drinks you probably wont be able to hear the noise!!!

The only thing that was disappointing about this hotel was the lack of air conditioning, the rooms were boiling hot, and because you have to open the windows you are kept awake by the street noise.

All in all a great hotel, but can be very noisy.

I'm from New York and went to visit friends in Belfast. My friend and I stayed at Benedict's and loved it! The service at the front desk was excellent, as well as the food and the hotel bar is great! I would tell everyone to stay at this hotel because it was so clean, the rooms were huge and the service was excellent. I will be going back to Benedict's soon!

“no problems at Benedicts”

Yes, the pub / nightclub downstairs is loud - make sure you ask for a rear facing, third floor room - I did and got a great night's sleep!
Reception person was the nicest member of staff I've ever encountered in all my stays at a British hotel - she seemed genuinely concerned for my welfare, as anyone who travels a lot in the UK knows - we are not (as a nation) very good at the whole "customer service" thing, so this was a pleasant welcome to NI.
Room was superb - fantastic bed and bed linen. Complementary water etc. Breakfast was great.
Hotel really can't be faulted - just don't mess with the bouncers (apparently)

“Earplugs are a necessity”

Benedict's Executive Suites are to be avoided unless you bring your own earplugs. While you pay a premium for these rooms (L 10), they all face a busy major street. When I booked the room, I requested a "quiet room" and was assured when checking in that this was not a problem. It was. When I complained that evening, they expressed surprise, but said there was nothing that they could do as they were fully booked. Not even an offer of earplugs to help me get through the night. At 3 a.m. I gave up the struggle and turned on the TV as it was impossible to get any sleep. I repeated my complaint upon checking out. No apology this time. Indeed, they disputed that there was any problem!

Oh yes, when reserving a room via their own website, their room costs escalates by L 5.

“Lovely but noisy”

Benedict's Hotel

The hotel is lovely, with fantastically design spacious rooms and nice marble bathrooms.
BUT...it is a popular nightspot and the music is loud and thumping and goes on well into the night. I fell asleep without a problem but if you are a light sleeper I'd ask for a quiet room. I was in 216 and another couple were in 302 and said the noise was unbearable.
The breakfast is good with a good choice.
It has the use of a small lock up car park a few minutes walk down the road which is handy (although having to drop the key in was a bit of a pain)
It is 10 minutes walk from the centre of town so the location is great.
