“Tired Hotel”

The Hotel described itself as a Luxury BoutIque Hotel (with prices to match). It might have been luxurious 5 years ago but it was tired. We booked a superior room and it was large but the carpet had stains on, one of the chairs had a cigarette burn and there was some mould around the shower edge. The window would not shut properly and we had to wedge a beer mat to do so to cut out the sound of the air con unit outside. The breakfast was average. The bar and Restaurant were certainly buzzing though.
In its favour the staff were lovely and the location great.

We stayed for my husbands 50th birthday we had room 204 and our friends room 207 these rooms are superior rooms our room was very nice very spacious lovel y comfortable bed.Our television did not work so didnt have the luxury of watching our television in bed in the morning with our cup of tea,our friends room not so large and little dissapointing to be honest for a superior room,we haved stayed in many hotels around europe and for the price we payed was not that brilliant if we had payed less say by 40 per cent it would of been excellent i suppose when you pay top wack you want it to be fantastic in every small detail.I noticed the bathroom was a little grubby black round the tiles etc.We had dinner and cocktails before the cocktails where really rubbish i had a margarita and no salt round the rim of my glass. To be fair we had a lovely dinner ribs chicken it was a grill restaurant and very busy it was to but had good atmosphere. The staff not the friendliest i have met but ok she nearly smiled at one point.Overall we had a good time the postion of the hotel is brilliant smack bang in the middle of things. We took the open tour bus and it was very good worth a go,we had lunch at cayenne and it to was excellent value for money 2 coureses only 12 very tasty wine lovely 17 pounds got you good bottle of merlot. We loved belfast very friendly will go back perhaps try a different less expensive hotel and our expectations will not be so high

“So upset over shabby service”

I booked the Romance package for my fiancé's birthday last August, and the experience was a disgrace from start to finish. The package is extremely expensive, but tbh, we would have had better nights in our own apartment. There were a litany of mistakes made by reception, staff and management. These included our ordered newspapers never arriving on either morning, our breakfast being delivered to the wrong room on the first am, and being cold when it eventually made its way to our room, and breakfast being incomplete the next, the lock on the door being broken, it taking 3 seperate attempts with 3 different bar staff to get a drink in the bar, the fact that Hen Nights are encouraged in what is meant to be a top class establishment (we could hear the ladies in question throwing up in their rooms down the corridor), the Hen night racing up and down the corridor and when we complained, the staff on reception came up and knocked on our door at 4am instead of finding the culprits, the noise from the late bar, the flag pole battering against our window, and the lack of provision of champagne, chocolates etc, booked as part of the Romance package, on night 2. To add insult to injury, when I tried to complain about this catalogue of disasters, I was informed that there is no manager till 4 pm on a Sunday, meaning I had to wait around to air my grievances.

It was shockingly bad.

Stayed at this hotel (pub) with my partner for a weekend. I had heard great reviews but i was very disappointed.
The decor is quite shabby (no doubt nice when first opened) rooms are average for a hotel having allegedly so many stars.
The first room that we stayed in was ok but the ceiling was a like a patchwork quilt, were water had previously leaked through and plaster then been repaired and replastered and not painted. The room and hotel in general would need a good coat of paint !! not to mention a clean. Room are very dusty and would appear to only get a basis clean. Housekeeping still had not cleaned our room by 3.45pm, which was very disappointing after spending all day shopping and wanting a little rest before tea.
Had to change rooms after first night as the aircon unit was putting out a smell that smelt like raw sewage!! Completely awful, couln't bear it no more!! Second room was a lot smaller and again quite basic and the dust and dirt around this air condition unit appeared to speak volumes that it had not been cleaned in months.
Entrance to hotel is very small and when we arrived home one night it was crowded with drunks outside waiting for a taxi, very intimitating as they were not happy to move when i tried to say 'excuse me' to get into the hotel. There was no security and anyone could wander around the hotel.
On the positive side, beds very comfortable and the ladies will enjoy the free bathroom products. The breakfast is good, and evening meal in the Grill Bar is worthy of a visit. Decor in here is very nice.
I think this is a good pub with a number of rooms added for good measure. there is a lot of better and nicer hotels in Belfast that you will get for a lot less money.

“Nice Hotel”

I stayed in the hotel one night whilst on business. You can park outside for free from 6pm-8am - then the parking charges kick in. Belfast has parking wardens everywhere roaming around the streets in packs at all hours of the day so do risk it!

The hotel was friendly and welcoming. The bar and restaurant downstairs looked very nice but I didn’t use it as I arrived late in the evening. The room was very nice although a little dusty - but very comfy bed, big TV and great shower - Ulster Breakfast was very nice. The room seemed to be located next to air conditioning unit that made a bit of noise, but I had ear plugs, so it didn’t matter too much. The hotel seems quite pricey, but I think if you had a different room where you didn’t have the external air conditioning noise, it would have been almost perfect. Defiantly worth a stay.
